As a general overarching proposition, shouldn't a guy like Berrios be known for 1. His good decision making and 2. His sticky hands?

He totally fvcked up that screen and needed to squeeze that ball in the end zone. I can't necessarily blame MLF as they could have totally worked but I'll definitely be second-guessing him next time. Guys like Berrios don't get too many chances in crunch time. After yesterday's debacle, you can't afford to feature him again. Those balls need to be going to E. Moore.
Yes, and 3. Gym rat lol

That screen and accompanying block in the back were terrible in that situation (all on Berrios). You want to go to Moore? I'd look more towards Conklin and Uzomah in the red zone for the height.

I'd stay away from Conklin for a little bit, can't haul anything in.

MLF needs to stay away from the trick plays/end arounds, wasted 1st and 2nd down almost everytime they were in the redzone. Tough loss yesterday but it didn't feel like a normal loss, it felt like the team found their QB.

That 4th down pass to Corey Davis was nails

Mike f***ing White is tough as nails and was making some big time throws to boot.

I really appreciate this Jets team, they're never out of the game no matter how many players they lose to injury. Truly feels as if Saleh has the guys bought in and their play is a reflection of him.

Big fan of Bam Knight as well, kid runs hard as hell. Great stable of RB's moving forward with him, Breece, Carter.

Tough stretch of games here against teams that are playing well with Lions & Jags but you're at home. Get it done and make a statement by qualifying for the playoffs.

I'm more concerned about locking up Mike White than making the playoffs. I don't want him anywhere near free agency

Love his heart and I can see why his teammates have rallied around him but c’mon now.

I’m not ready to do a post mortem on the season yet but TE needs an upgrade.

That position has been a nightmare for the Jets since Mickey Shuler. Anyone remember him?

The current TEs are actually an improvement over the past few years but that’s not much of a compliment.

The lack of Uzomah in the red zone is killing me, your tallest receiving threat in the red zone has no targets. He caught 5 from Burrow last year, he's no slouch.

Dustin Keller was really good in those late 00's early 10's years.

I would love Michael Mayer out of Notre Dame, but I think there are other holes to fill first before TE. Especially when Conky and Uzomah were just signing to relatively long deals for TE's (3/20.25mm and 3/24mm)

Good call on Dustin Keller.

I see your Dustin Keller and raise you a Pete Lammons.

Thank you Bills. So the Jets must win today and it seems they will need 3 out of 4 to make the playoffs or else probably miss out losing most if not all the tiebreakers.

With Mike White out today, the Wilson fiasco continues. Will the team respond?

Part of me wants to write “Same Old Jets” if they lose today and I am sure many will (if they lose) but my shock that we are even in this position (per my earlier posts) and they are playing meaningful football now in mid-December certainly has me excited and thankful. They haven’t won a December game yet but played two of the best teams in the NFL pretty well on he road.

Of course all the drama at QB is a major storyline. I hope the players and particulary the WRs and the crowd gets behind this kid and supports him and he goes out and proves the Jets made the right choice in drafting him. The organization needs it badly.

We need the kid to succeed on all fronts and win this game, win over the team, prove this organization made the right choice drafting him and make it so we don’t see Mike White again this season. I sense that it is asking too much because we are asking a kid who has seemingly and deservedly so lost this team who has shown he is overwhelmed to take the next step in NY. Today needs to be different for us long suffering fans.

This game is the biggest game in over a decade on many fronts.

LETS GO!!!

Like you, I’ve soured on Wilson after being sold on his potential after hearing several ex-NFL QBs rave about his skill set. The Pats game was the last straw. His performance was awful but his attitude was even worse.

This really is a second and possibly a last chance for him on the Jets. I’m hoping to see more skill, more confidence but most of all more leadership.

LGJ

Zach Wilson: Overall a slightly better performance than his prior games but he remains inaccurate which I think is his Achilles heel. The conservative game plan keeping him in the pocket worked against him on several plays but let’s be honest, he made some boneheaded plays when he freelanced.

Looks more and more like a wasted #2 overall pick. You might say bust and I wouldn’t disagree.

Wilson is done. Jets did not lose that game because of him (special teams brutal and defense bad play) but the offense has to be able to win a game once in a while. Big step in right direction for the Jets but at the end of the day they need to see if White can go on a run here to end the year.

Wilson is NOT done. Hang this loss on the coaching staff and special teams. You can NOT leave timeouts unused and run out of time. They were given a gift to get that 1 second left stoppage. Time outs Managed properly they get at least two more plays off and possibly more. How about spiking the ball Once?

Detroit is a tough team and played well.

Zach Wilson gets a C grade there for one really bad pick but he was often under duress and played much better.

The Jets special teams failed them today
The Jets running game failed them
The defense failed them in the final two minutes so you cannot hang this all on the QB.

Wilson has happy feet in the pocket. We are three games away from going on year 3 with Wilson. Are there any QB's we can look to that could not play in the pocket comfortably until year 3?

And the award for worst clock management by a Jets coach in franchise history goes to:

Herm Edwards
Robert Saleh

The kid has absolutely no touch whatsoever. He's firing fastballs in on receivers who are like 5 yards away. Make a ball catchable Zack. Its like he has to prove he's got a strong arm on every throw, instead of taking something off so the receivers can reel it in. Watching the SNY postgame, they were highlighting how he can't "throw to a window" to get covered receivers in full flight.

With one great year at BYU (lower tier of D1 football) its pretty evident so far that he got by on his athleticism vs lower tiered players and it killing him now. Maybe he becomes a serviceable QB a few years from now but Jets can't wait that long. Get a legit veteran over the offseason, let MW be the backup and see if someone wants to take a flier on him because he doesn't look like he will be a franchise QB in this League anytime soon

As an impartial fan (NY Giants fan), I mentioned several times that I would have tried to continue building the team with Penei Sewell (because I did NOT trust Becton to hold up given his build and seeming lack of work ethic and conditioning) or one of the other high-end talents in the draft, and address QB later.

I like a lot of the pieces the Jets have in place but figuring out QB and the tackle spots long term are going to be huge. They are a couple big spots to fill and the Jets have to get it right, if they want to get to the next level.

Problem with drafting Sewell was it was going to force them into keeping Darnold (and forgoing that sweet deal they got for him).

I think looking ahead you trade Wilson. I am curious if they would be able to get a Darnold type of deal for him. White should be the backup heading into next season unless he goes 3-0 to end the season here and they make the playoffs. Go get Aaron Rodgers or Jimmy G in the offseason and make a run at it.

Normally I would be okay with giving Wilson another go next season but this defense is elite and deserves a shot. Is Wilson going to learn how to throw in the pocket in his third NFL season? I doubt it. I am no fan of Lafleur but I also feel for him. What type of plays do you draw up for a QB who has zero ability to throw from the pocket?

Oh and Becton is a fat f***ing slob.

Yes, at the time I suggested just going with Darnold for another year, even if he was a lame-duck QB. Take the short-term hit if need be. But they probably could have still moved him and gone with a placeholder for a season too.

I wouldn't touch Rodgers for free (in terms of trade compensation) in the NYC market. That is a disaster waiting to happen. He will be a miserable SOB at the first sign of trouble.

A possible one-year audition could be someone like Tannehill if the Titans want to go in a different direction. He is a solid pocket passer and could be a good fit for the Jets.

Funny Becton story (or maybe not so funny for Jets fans), a friend was at Jets camp and on the first series in the morning Becton was really struggling. Guy was puking all over his shoes after just a few minutes. That is very troubling, in terms of conditioning, for a young player.

I believe the Darnold issue was much larger than that. It was going to be difficult to convince a head coach to come to the Jets and tell him that they were keeping Darnold and not going in another direction. I don't have anything to back that up other than my opinion though.

For a year, maybe with some vet competition, I think most coaches could live with it. Especially a coach like Saleh, who should understand it would have been a transition season.

Or they could have just found a placeholder and still traded Darnold. Because I agree that Darnold was essentially cooked in NY.

My big issue with Darnold was his happy feet in the pocket. It seems as if Wilson has the same exact issues and is super unlikable as a person.
