Sure, sounds like either a bidding war or a game of chicken. Either way, AP and Howie are going to be matching wits against each other for probably the next 15 years.

I think the under-appreciated element here is that PHI is pretty highly leveraged over the next 5 years in terms of monetary commitments.

Whoever gets Garrett will look to extend him, and if it's PHI, that's just more future money locked in.

This would be a great move for them to extend their current window, but in 3 or so years, they could be the NFCE version of the Saints.

Hard to believe the Eagles will still have any cap space to give MG the contract he wants after June 1st and spend the trade assets.

Myles Garret will likely become the highest paid D player in NFL history the second the ink drys.
Pay attention to what TJ Watt signs for this offseason. Im guessing they will be very close in term and guaranteed money.

Like other suggested the Eagles are just driving up the price for us as any good GM should do.

Reminds me when the Bullets traded Chris Weber for Mitch Richmond. I would actually be more inclined to offer Allen in a package for Garrett than for any WR. Regardless I doubt we get much for Allen... maybe a 3rd if we're lucky.

Any good GM negotiates in bad faith to attempt to artificially raise prices? Sounds like a sure fire way to earn yourself a bad rep amongst your peers.

This is a Trent Williams special. Player flexes to either get moved and a new deal or just get a new deal.
