Same update was said back in training camp.. now all this time has passed and we're hearing the same shit. Clearly it's not progressing and he's had a setback
Low chances he plays this season
Where He's At:
-feeling good; getting better every day
-happy to be back out there
-hard to pinpoint when he'll return
What He's Been Through:
-really hard to put it into words
-something you can't prepare for
-support from his family, friends, fans, and the organization has been really nice and made the tough time a lot easier
-means a lot to be around the team
-not getting to be part of training camp and missing part of the season was not fun
-hanging out and going on road trips has gone a long way
-thankful and happy to be standing here today
-happy to speak out and hoping it helps someone
-if speaking out helped one person then it will make this worth it
-trying to put it behind him
-initial part of it was very tough
-feeling good today and this is, for the most part, behind him
-beginning process was the tough part
-had the surgery in early September
-recovery timeline was 1-1/2 months
-has recovered and now it's about getting back in-shape
-both mental and physical challenges have been very tough
-has looked at this as just another injury
-when he plays a game, he wants to make an impact and not just seeing if he get through the game
-it's the start of the season and this early season struggle is pretty normal for any team to go through
-tough time sharing the diagnosis with his teammates
-wants to increase awareness and encourage males to get checked
-best part is being a part of the team and having those bonding moments
-people have reached out and let him know their own experiences
-thought something wasn't right and got himself checked
-family is ready to see him play too

From conversations I’ve had, three to four weeks for a Thatcher Demko return to action is reasonable. He wasn’t a full participant in Canucks practice in LA today but he did take shots. Schedule is favourable this month, lots of opportunities for practice.

Getting Demko back will be big (duh)... especially since we know we don't have to ride him right back onto the IR. Lankinen will make a great 1B.
The bonus is that Silovs can go back down to the AHL and get some reps... and that Tolopilo, who has struggled recently, doesn't have to carry Abby.

Demko has been 3-4 weeks away since May….this is one that I’m not going to believe until it happens. And when it does that it’s not just another game followed by out for “3-4 weeks” again.
