The Devils will make the playoffs and its because of their remaining schedule...

Yes this too. We've lost to so many AWFUL teams this year. Winnipeg TWICE, Buffalo, Edmonton, Calgary, Phoenix.

Hell, we are only 1-1-0 against Buffalo so far because we won a game 40 seconds before OT ended. We almost got shutout by Jhonas Enroth who has ONE win this season.

We were THAT close to getting shutout by a Buffalo team that has zero shutouts this year. I don't even think Ryan Miller has a shutout for them this year. And we came the closest out of any team to actually getting shutout by them. We almost got shutout twice, if not for a 5 on 3 goal in the middle of the 3rd period in our second game against them. In two games we haven't even scored one goal 5 on 5 against the Buffalo Sabres. Let that sink in.

Let's not forget going 0-2-1 against the CBJ so far. They were not on one of their streaks when beating us either.

So yeah the appealing schedule doesn't look so appealing to me.

Was Brodeur in net for those Calgary, Edmonton, and Phoenix games?

What if he's in net the next time too?

Team should make it but I don't really know if they will based on what we've seen this year.

Yes he was, but who's to say we would have scored for Cory in those games?

Cory was in net for both games against the Sabres and needed a shutout for almost 65 minutes just to win. He was also in net when we lost 2-1 to Buffalo. We sometimes lose to these teams we need to beat even with Cory. 0-2-1 against the CBJ, with Cory in net for one of those games. Has any other team in the division even gone winless against them so far?

If they win the next two games we think about playoffs again. If they don't take at the least 3/4 points, it's over.

Easier schedule or not, the Devils don't exactly feast on weaker competition regularly. This team snatches loses from the jaws of victory daily, until they prove otherwise I don't particularly care about their upcoming schedule.

I could care less about losing the #16-20 pick...but losing what might be a top ten pick is just going to be that much more galling and embarassing to the organization and fans when we could have just given up the #29 two years ago.

Water over the dam.

Where the pick is is really irreverent. When the decision had to be made we knew we may lose ZP but in no way could we have foreseen the Kovy thing. I think it was realistic to believe at the time the decision was made, that this pick would be at best in the teens. I dont remember who but someone argued that two years of development for the 29th pick was greater than selecting the 15th choice. That can be argued either way but I see the logic. I still feel Lou had a certain player he felt would be there at 29 who wasn't an I think that was Subban.

its like being in a football game, late in the fourth quarter, its 4th and goal on the 8 yard line, you're down by 3 with a reliable kicker, yet the coach says "lets go for 6, I know what I'm doing" and they run the ball and come up short

How many times have I seen that happen/ I wouldn't guess
