I see the CP Bat signal has been sent, the fanboys are crawling out of the woodwork. Their latest nonsense is to discredit the 7-1-1 Budaj who might just be the guy who gets us out of this tailspin.
All things considered, Budaj has had a horrible career as a starter and is not an option as a starting goalie for any medium-to-long stretch of time.
Yeah he was a sieve against the Leafs, yeah he let in 6 goals against the Flyers but we're a playoff team and need to keep playing him until he gets it together again. The defense and the backcheck are more worrisome.
So unless this is Price's Tommy Salo moment, I don't understand the hubbub about Price. Unless he definitively bombs in the coming playoffs there should be no debate about his place on the team. Our fortunes are tied to him for the next six years, why waste time arguing his place? He's a #1 NHL goalie and he's our #1... It's not going to change.
Agreed, but what's the harm in giving the starter role to Budaj (who's actually earned it), and forcing Price to actually win the role back? Not once has he ever had to fight for his job.

Does Budaj play defence? The D is letting us down big time right now. All the moaning is about Price (who is partially responsible) but our biggest trouble is the defensive zone play. Wake up people, it's not all on Price.
Explain how exactly he has earned the starter role with his 9 starts this season. Classic panic reaction from some people.
Oh no...the sky is falling!!!![]()

Agnostic said:Why should anyone on the defense care when the coach doesn't . Price is lifted after 3 shots on Saturday, the coach goes back with him to watch another bed ********. The 7-1-1 backup sits waiting to clean up another Price mess.

7-1-1 , better stats than Price, Price in a slump, the division championship on the line.
Is that enough?
You seem to be implying that wisdom comes with age, yet your posts demonstrate otherwise.

Budaj was terrible last night too.
1 goal on 3 shots?
Go with Budaj for the next game or two.
thats not a panic move or anything. Let him get back to his game.
