The Bourne Identity

Can I say he reminds me of a Ryan Kesler type? Obviously he isn't even close to there yet, but with his insane training and style of play he kind of reminds me of him....Hopefully that's the type of player he can ideally become.

Whenever I see him on 24CH he seems like a really intense, no nonsense, hockey obsessed kid. His attitude matches what you see on the ice. There's no way he won't be an NHLer. Beginning to think we can pencil him into our 3rd line for quite a while.

Agreed - I keep thinking of the line he gave Therrien after the coach tells him he has made the team but that they will take it day by day, no guarantee when you are in the lineup, and Bournival no hesitation or concern says something like "I'll find/make a spot." Nothing else. And when he got that top line promotion I thought of that, and it comes to mind every night, just a tenacious kid and like you said no nonsense and crazy hard working. What's not to love? No idea if he keeps it up long term but loving watching it happen now.

Can play on any line. Fast. Strong. Physical. Has some offensive flair. Defensively responsible. Well-rounded and incredibly versatile guy we have in our hands here.

well lets just worry about that in 2 months hm?

Anyhow I'm excited to have Galchenyuk, Eller, Gallagher, Bournival, Tinordi, Price, Subban, Pacioretty on the team, these are the guys who will our core.

Not on our team but, I hope so much that de la Rose, Collberg and Nygren will be a part of the future core!! :)

Sad but true.

He's playing well, let's enjoy it and not hype him up too much.

Too late for that. Where do you think you are? Are you saying he's not a potential 1rst line winger who is fast, can score, play on the PP and PK? :shakehead

I would trade him because he doesn't fight but on the upside he does speak French so let's elect him as the new Captain.

Hard to believe Galchenyuk is 2 years younger than Michael Bournival. I think Bournival will be part of our core players in the future. He's young, big, fast and rarely out of position. This guy is a coache's player. I would love to see Galchenyuk centering Bournival together. I know Bournival is listed at 5'11"-6'0" but I swear he looks much bigger than that, more like 6'2" 200lbs. On the other hand Josh Gorges is listed at 6'1" but he looks like 5'10" on ice. Anyhow I'm excited to have Galchenyuk, Eller, Gallagher, Bournival, Tinordi, Price, Subban, Pacioretty on the team, these are the guys who will our core.

I'm sorry but your post has very little structure. I don't even understand the link between the first sentence and the rest of your text. Heck, I don't even know what your point is.

He will never be eaten alive.... unless we give him a crazy contract within the next month or so (see desharnais lol) the fans will have sympathy for the full year even if he isnt able to produce... why? 3 reasons. IMHO.

1- effort
2- dedicated 2 way player
3- no expectations he comes from nowhere

I'm starting to believe.

Last week when the RDS guy between the benches (forget his name, former goalie) said there are similarities between him and Gallagher last year I scoffed at the suggestion. FF to now and I've completely changed my tune, he can be even better! Notably because he is more complete and can be used in more situations while still bringing the same production.

I was of the same opinion a week ago and I'm changing my tune as well. I'm not sold that he's a lock for the top 6 but he is definitely showing signs of a solid 3rd liner who can fill in on the top 6.

One thing I know for sure, in the short term I'd like to see him get a 3 game try out as Pleks winger to see how much chemistry they have or if the last game was a fluke. He had some great passes to Pleks.
