I can't remember the game or the season, but in those early years, my season tickets were behind the net in the attack twice zone. I swear Vybs scored a goal when his entire body was behind the red goal line, about 4-6 feet in from the side boards. When he let the shot go, the only thing in front of the line was the puck and the blade of his stick.

I thought he hit the goalie and ricocheted it off the goalie's body. But no, upon replay, he lifted the puck just over the goalie shoulder and into the upper left front corner of the net. It remains to this day, the hardest angle shot I can remember without bouncing off anything before going in.

Wiz had to be traded for Rene Bourque and was then subsequently bought out. He was great value for a year or two but no comparison with Vyborny.

Eh, I think it's the Saad trade for me. Anisimov was never going to be more than a 3rd line C while he was here, Dano, while he has potential, he'll never be on Saads level. We far and away came out with the best piece in that trade.

Id also argue Umberger for Hartnell depending on how his last few years turn out/what we get for him if we trade him.

Vyborny has two and a half times the number of games played as a Blue Jacket than Knutsen has in his NHL career. Knutsen goes in the "highly appreciated honorable mention" camp with guys like Huselius and Hejda.

Of course, Vybes' entire NHL career was with the Jackets, but still.

I don't disagree with you, but at least be fair. CBJ also received William Karlsson in that deal. He has turned into a pretty good player with room to grow.

Counter (if I wanted to argue) is how many ASGs did Vybes have? I think it was one less than Espen (who got in when they did an international team I think)
