NHL99: Dominik Hasek mastered goaltending with a preposterous approach
The Dominator was unprecedented in style and substance and his flamboyant magnitude made him a household name.

My thoughts? I'd take Lidstrom over Hasek.
Absolutely, AINEC. I say that as a huge Hasek fan - Nick continues to be underrated, even now.My thoughts? I'd take Lidstrom over Hasek.
Agreed that it's not easy to compare different positions. But if given the option between:The lists are always a little weird when you have to rank players playing vastly different positions.
I think Hasek is one of if not the best goaltender of all time in the modern era. But having someone like Lidstrom on the ice for almost half the game helping control the offense and defense, it's not an easy call.
My thoughts? I'd take Lidstrom over Hasek.
Agreed. I love Hasek, but I'd take the generational defenseman every time.Absolutely, AINEC. I say that as a huge Hasek fan - Nick continues to be underrated, even now.
I think I give the edge to Hasek. Normally when I hear best players all time Orr, Harvey, Borque, Shore end up in front of Lidstrom. When it comes to best goalies all time Hasek is usually in the conversation.
I think I take Lidstrom over Hasek in an all time draft but I can understand where Hasek could elevate in these types of ranks especially with how flamboyant he played the game.
Mind blowing we got to see them win a cup together. From a defensive stand point imagine getting through Fedorov/Drapper/Yzerman in a 2 line pass system, then having to get through Lidstrom, and if you manage that having to beat Hasek.
