This is the day when stupid teams do stupid things. Please avoid this GMRF.

There are about five top-4 LD and five top-6 RW. Yeah, I don't see this going over well.

Belesky is going to sign a dumb deal in Toronto because they can't help themselves. 10 assists on a team that scored a ton last season and he's going to get $5 mil from someone. You'd think on that team he could get a couple assists because the puck bounced off his ass before Geltzlaf picked it up and scored.

Matt Beleskey:

Year 1: 60GP, 11G, 7A
Year 2: 35GP, 3G, 7A
Year 3: 70GP, 4G, 11A
Year 4: 42GP, 8G, 5A
Year 5: 55GP, 9G, 15A

Year 6: 65GP, 22G, 10A (15.2 sh%)

The lockout year was the only other time he shot over 9%. He was a pretty good possession player this year, but before that he hadn't really been that impressive. At 27, has he finally turned a corner? More likely, he's a bottom 6 guy that's about to be paid like an all-star.

I'm a big Joel Ward fan. Would love to see him in Raleigh. He's probably going to get a stupid contract from some team, though.

According to the Trade Board (lol) there are 8 teams interested in him. Somebody is going to give him too much money for too many years. I know it's free agency and teams overpay, but he's a third line guy who is going to get second line money. I like Joel Ward, but I'd pass.

He's Jiri Tlusty circa the lockout season.

I already am predicting Belesky is going to get overpaid by someone, just like Ville Leino in the 2011 off season. He's gonna sign a long term deal and underwhelm, and likely get bought out.

Personally, I still think a trade is the best bet. I have no idea who, but the UFA group looks wholly unimpressive, and the best players are going to make too much.
