Walk up and down 9th Ave in the 40's. There are a lot of small restaurants that have their menus and prices in the window. Some blocks have 4 or 5 restaurants on them.

I was more talking about mod. Upscale, I can't be tooo classy. And I was talking per person, and really only including one or maybe two drinks.

Thinking of staying in either the hilton in manhatten or the avalon hotel.
 
Taking the gf out to dinner for her birthday at L&B Spumoni in Bensonhurst/Gravesend tonight. Any sports bars in that area where we could catch the Rangers game afterwards? Any info is much appreciated :)

As for bars, I just found some good info on some place nearby called Lolly Taps. Weird name, but they apparently have 6 HD tvs and a beer pong table so I think we're in business :yo:

I skimmed through the first few pages of this thread and found already some good advice like the flyin puck and yelp manhattan. Thanks for that already! :handclap:

I'm gonna visit NY from 17.-24th March - so 2 weeks from now - with a friend and our appartement just got cancelled. The reason for our stay is ofc 3 rangers games (Devils, Redwings, Sabres - bought on StubHub) and a lot of party :D

So we're currently searching for a hotel not far away from MSG and found Pennsylvania Hotel right besides the MSG and the Flying Puck - do you recommend staying there? Is it a good idea? At first we thought about staying somewhere cheaper but since we're at three games and surely gonna drink (europeans m8s! :yo: ) we're a bit cautious about a long way to the hotel at night so... could you guys help out with some thoughts maybe?

Really appreciate your help, we admire your city and your franchise, thanks in advance!

Not sure what your criteria is. Proximity to MSG is overrated as everything in Manhattan is pretty accessible by cab or subway. The actual area that MSG and the Hotel Pennsylvania is kind of an armpit. You could easily stay in a different area and still have no problem coming to and from The Garden.

Overall, it comes down to what you're willing to spend for a room.
 
Flyers fans spending the night in NYC on Saturday before catching the train back over to see Flyers/Devils on the way home...any recommendations for a bar that would likely have Flyers/Leafs airing on Saturday? We're staying in the Chelsea area.

ETA: Just jumped back to the first page and saw The Flying Puck mentioned. Will likely check that out, but are there any other suggestions?
 
I'm going to be in the city on St. Pattys day, best bet for a bar I can actually watch the game and be able to see the tv in relative peace?

Edit: Preferably around MSG
 
My 4 Day NYC trip in March from Norway just got pushed back to 8 days in june instead..

Oh well..

I'll try to Squeeze in an october visit too..;)
 
in three week, seven years Rangers fan will be visiting U.S.A and New york city for the first time. Hopefully will get to the last game of Rangers.
btw: ticketmaster is the only option to get ticket?

Seeing Pens/Rangers game - Best places to eat nearby?

We're going Wendy's but as our hotel is nearby was wondering about other places for other days.

Also, any Man v Food locations near Penn Station?
 
Saturday St. Patrick's day Game Guide

I'm sure there are a lot of people who do the city st pattys day thing on here.

Being that this year it's a Saturday it should be extra insane. Plus on top of that rangers play at night.

What is everyone's plans before the game during day, how crowded will things be, how drunk will everyone be?

Post advice here.

theres a pub crawl, get into 15 bars for like 40 bucks.. drink specials from 9 am to 9pm.. safe to say ill be staggering over to the garden around puck drop
 
I intend to be drinking Guinness as early as possible at one of the Irish bars nearby. Then, assuming good weather, my friends and I will be hitting up a rooftop party which will involve more Guinness, some whiskey, and the Dropkick Murphy Pandora station. I anticipate that by the time the Ranger game begins I will be in no condition to go anywhere or do anything.
 
So in other words most people at the garden that night will be heavily intoxicated. Can't wait gonna be a great game to be at.

That bar crawl for 40 bucks sounds legit
 
I was thinking of heading up early and hitting up Blarney Rock/Sout before the game. Normally I wouldn't care, but I am bringing the lady with me, and I was wondering if they were the types of places opposing fans would get hassled?

Honestly it all comes down to how you act. If you're cool, nobody will mess with you. If someone does make a comment and you're able to laugh it off or smile, even better.

Sounds like normal - I enjoy away games & talking hockey with a different fan base, but it is their city & I expect at least some comments (I would be a little dissapointed they didn't). I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a place to avoid on gameday. I live in Philly and would recommend avoiding a couple places right before/after the game (and I don't mean Pats/Ginos, but I guess there too), and basically the entire city of Pittsburgh (worst/most obnoxious fans I have had to deal with).
 
Absolutely love it here so far. Saw Seminar with Alan Rickman last night, very good show.

This is the first American city I've been to that I would love to live in
