I didn't really like X all that much when I played it originally. Played the remaster a fair bit after I gave up my faith and it spoke to me MUCH more.

I tried to play x-2 and just couldn't do it.

Also guys I'm about to go to the Pillar and I'm not ready for it.

X-2 they can keep but X is better than VI imo. There’s no reason to remake X though.

I loved X, first game to introduce voiceovers, even if the acting was meh. Also loved the story, gameplay, and etc. Great game.

Final Fantasy VI, was a classic, and is also in my Top 5, which right now in no particular order is, 6,7,8,10, and 12. FF 4 is just outside. Not much overall in that game, but loved the story and the battles were a challenge.

As much as I loved FF 6, would take a Chrono Trigger remake over it if I had to choose one. So much potential there. We got Chrono Cross which I enjoyed and got to see the CT universe with better graphics, but imagine a FF VII remake version of the original CT? Damn!

Kind of getting a hankering for some good old video juegos, what are some sick RTS games that are Mac-compatible? I guess I could use a virtual Windows machine if the game is worth it.

Forgive me if this has been asked already, but does anyone here have the Nintendo Switch? If so, is it worth it? I'm mostly into Mario and sports games. I like some RPG's, but I get bored really quick with shooter games (except for N64 Bond). I have PS4, but it's hooked up in my basement and I've kind of lost interest. I like the idea of being able to take her on the road, then hooking it up back at home. Thanks in advance for recommendations/tips.
I purchased a switch recently, about a month ago, and I can honestly say I have been pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoy it. I have an xbox one and a ps4 and each has its own advantages....my wife and I can play together on the switch and it is a lot of fun, I say go for it and get super smash bros, Mario party, Mario kart definitely

if your looking for something to play with others overcooked 2 is a fun game, I also play fortnite on the switch as well to pass the time

I bought a switch back in 2018. At the time I bought it because I wanted to play Blossom Tales (which I recommend if you like A Link to the Past), and to play Nintendo virtual console games. I've only ever used in it handheld mode, I've actually never taken the dock out of the box.

If you like sports games, it's not as great as the PS4, but there is some NBA and baseball games to check out.

If you buy it for Mario Kart, Mario party and Zelda you probably won't regret it.

PS5 should be the System dedicated for remaking classics... Anyone who disagrees can go f*ck themselves :DD

I’d play FF 6, 8 and 9 again before I’d want to see X remade. My all time favorite is actually XI. It’s the only online game I ever played but I loved it. Loved the world. I would love to see it remade or revisited in the future.

I’m farting around with the Witcher 3 in my minimal downtime right now. It was $11 on PSN. I really don’t play games like I used to. The last 3 I played we’re AC: Odyssey, God of War 3 and GreedFall (surprisingly good). I typically just fire up a game or 2 of NHL when I’m bored but don’t often have time for long stories anymore, even though I love them. I’ll do the 7 remake eventually.

X won’t be remade, a remaster was done a few years ago and that was a Enough, the game is modern enough plus it was already fully voiced , if they remade it they would need to bring back all the original cast and have them re record all the lines etc idk that seems like something they wouldn’t bother with. I’d love a Chrono Trigger remake. That would be lit af.

Just Finished FF7.... Ooooohhh Man there is so much to talk about with the last 2 chapters and I've stayed away from anything that could constitute as a spoiler, but I can only imagine that the ending is super controversial.

Personally, I loved the ending as it really sets up some really, really, really interesting scenarios and has a chance (if done correctly) to transcend the game to even higher heights, but I also understand why some people will be miffed by it.

Parallel/alternate timelines are such a tough thing to pull off and while it's super ambitious and I 100% support not making a 1 for 1 remake of the original, my sole worry is that they may deviate too far from the source material (i.e if Aerith lives.) I understand that the arbiters of fate were not everyone's cup of tea, but I'm blown away with how much their 'involvement' makes sense from the first time you see them when you look back after find out what their purpose is. Thats really, really good writing. Zack living through that fight with the Shinra peeps was a complete mind f*** and I'm really curious to see how they link that world into pt 2 and beyond.

Tl;dr: Shits going to be different. I hope it isn't too different.

As for the game itself, It's the best game I've played since God of War which IMO, is THE best exclusive title the PS has to offer (sorry TLoU.) This game was more than I was expecting and my expectations were already sky high. My biggest worry with this installment was how they would cover Wall Market but it was arguably the best chapter in the entire game.

Things I loved: Soundtrack, Fleshing out of the 'lesser' members of Avalanche and Midgar in general (99% of it wasn't useless filler), a near flawless battle system (Stagger feature was an AWESOME add), voice acting. I don't think there was a single boss battle that I hated.

Things I didn't love: Static backgrounds in some areas and the wonky lock on feature which almost never went where I wanted it to go. Both of these can and likely will be patched. Too many fetch quests as side missions for my taste, but they aren't mandatory.

On to Hard mode!

This is very heartening as I do plan to play this one. How was the nostalgia? At this point that’s probably the biggest draw for me since I really don’t game much anymore but FF7 was a landmark game for me growing up.

Same here. Played it for 5 years. What server were you on?

Shiva I believe. I played for about 5-6 years straight and then returned every several months sporadically for a few more years. Character was called Mathwe lol

On point. The fan service in this game is apparent. They put so much effort into recreating this world that it really feels like the exact same one that existed on the PS1.

I just hit Chapter 5 (6-7 hours in?), I am in absolute awe at every turn. I'm trying to limit myself to a few hours a day so I don't beat it too quickly haha. Next 2 nights i'll probably log in 3 hours per night though.
