OT: The All-Purpose Video Game Thread: Part II

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. Yeah I’m loving this game, I hope Part 2 will be out sooner than later. Little disappointed I know cannot play as Red XIII but that is ok.

7 hours in and still at sector 7 slums. (I like to take my time and level up characters and Materia) lol.

I did all the available sidequests before moving on but didn’t hang around too long after

I guess I’m treating this game a little differently, I know where it will end up story wise but just enjoying the extra depth to it. If that makes sense.
 
Forgive me if this has been asked already, but does anyone here have the Nintendo Switch? If so, is it worth it? I'm mostly into Mario and sports games. I like some RPG's, but I get bored really quick with shooter games (except for N64 Bond). I have PS4, but it's hooked up in my basement and I've kind of lost interest. I like the idea of being able to take her on the road, then hooking it up back at home. Thanks in advance for recommendations/tips.

It's not great for sports games (currently no NHL, Madden, Tiger/Rory, Baseball game), But great for Nintendo games obviously. I got a switch lite because I only cared about playing it on the go and it's fun. It's good for RPGs.

I can do with out all of the fetch quests on the side (I get it, Cloud is a mercenary.)

The main story stuff is 100000% amazeballs. SE has redeemed themselves for all of the BS they've released over the years. Taken a classic game and made it even better (thus far. I even think most if not all of the changes to the original story have been for the better.)

The game is also not easy. I’ve had like 5 game overs already and not just from the boss fights. You really need to use strategy, have the right materia load outs and you can’t just hack and slash your way to victory.

I've yet to have a game over due to a boss.

I've been handed my L's by their f***ing minions before/after defeating them.

But this should be the battle system (or something similar, they wont use the Materia system) moving forward for ALL FF games.

What the f*** are the emerald and ruby weapon fights going to look like?
 
Been watching a play-through of the FF7 Remake on Twitch since I don't have a console and nothing better to do with my time lately, and I am NOT a huge fan of the ending. But I guess we'll see where they go in the next parts...

Otherwise, looks good.

Now, Square Enix, remake the best FF game: 6
