OT: The Alcohol & Mixology Thread

Seeing as we are heading into total lockdown #3 after Christmas break (which is what I’ve been told by someone in the know) and no hockey and no fun allowed, I thought I’d start a thread on what your favorite alcohol and drinks are.

There’s some cool stuff on YouTube from bartenders and mixologists. Can post some of your favourites maybe. Show off your home bar.

Because I plan on spending an absolute shitload of time behind mine this lockdown.

There’s some cool stuff on YouTube from bartenders and mixologists. Can post some of your favourites maybe. Show off your home bar.

Because I plan on spending an absolute shitload of time behind mine this lockdown.

Yeah, nice guitar in the background there. I don't recognize the body style. The truss rod cover made me think it's a Grestch but it also looks like a hybrid double cut away Gibson. With a Bigsby rolling tremolo bridge? Very cool

Half Amaretto half Fireball was always a good non puke shooter. Tastes like Valentine's cinnamon hearts.

And...only a 6pk Stella?

I'm celiac and drink Strongbow, bought a flat at Stupidstore. Got outside and thought only three flats left, went right back in to buy a second.

Me and the wife have caught of few of these videos which are really interesting and entertaining. Highly recommend checking some of them out regardless of whether you are just starting to get into cocktails or have been doing them for ages.

Some of the history is really cool!

I'll be posting my little bar later once the wife opens her Christmas gift (she really loves Gin, so I got her 6 different styles that she can try and see which ones make some awesome drinks). Super excited to see if there is anything cool I can try based on what everyone else is doing.

Nice. I saw them once at Northlands in 1997 with Econoline Crush opening. I had to put them on the “I saw them” list. Sadly I enjoyed myself too much that night, not sure if it was a great show (it was a great time though!).

So met the band backstage a couple times. Paul Stanleys was a charity auction item. Tommy Thayer signed this one after a show. Caught Eric Singers drumstick at one show where we were in front of Row 1 in the “pit”. Got a few signed items from backstage too.

Great guys, had a blast each time.

Man oh man that’s a beautiful collection!!!

Thanks! They all bring back such great memories. One of my favorite albums was / is Kiss Alive. Meeting the band backstage the first time was perhaps the only time I’ve ever been speechless in my life. These guys were like rock Gods when I was in my early teens. I was supposed to see them a couple of times again in 2020 but Covid. Still want to go again before the world ends.

Have you / her tried that Empress Gin? It’s pretty nice.

It’s not bad at all, although I’ve become partial to a similar one from Okanagan Spirits. Same colour change idea, but distilled to 99% before dilution (and no tailings mixed with the 99% prime) instead of 65%, best gin flavour I’ve ever tasted.

No A and W tonight. I had soup. Have a nasty ear infection and making my throat sore. So annoying. Just got antibiotics tonight. But once it’s better I’m celebrating with a buddy burger !!!
