I mean...we had a preposterously, cosmically bad/unlucky THIRTEEN GAME losing streak that dropped us off the map. Otherwise we weren't anywhere near as bad as the bottom five teams. This is as low as we'd finish.

We are where we are. Roll the dice on one more high-end pick and vow to never sniff the top ten for the next decade.

I agree. Not sure how 'unlucky' we were. Our best player by a country mile was out and we crumbled. That, to me is telling.

Desnoyers, Frondell or Eklund there at 7th. Maybe someone takes McQueen top 6 but he has a poor playoff.

7th is the cutoff in my opinion after that it drops off.

It wouldn’t be crazy in the slightest for Hagens to be there 7th. Every year the small guy drops. If not him, someone pretty damn solid.

I honestly don’t think they can take Eklund 7th, that’s a bit too high, and he’s a bit too much of what we already have.

The only players I would bank on not being there are Schaefer, Misa, Martone, and Hagens.

The next tier seems to vary a lot depending on where you look. Any of Desnoyers, Frondell, McQueen, Eklund, Smith, O'Brien, or Mrtka could go 5 and 6.


I'm really coming around on Jake O'Brien. He sounds like almost the ideal pick at 7. Elite playmaking, high hockey IQ, and solid defensive ability from every scouting report I've read.
