Outside of Edvinsson, which kids make the team objectively better? Berggren is good, but he is objectively worse than Kane and Raymond. Are we going to run a top 6 line with two playmaking perimeter wingers? Probably not. He doesn't fill the role he should be playing better than what we already have, which is the reason he is playing for the Griffins and not the Red Wings.
One of Ed or Aljo I would also give Kasper another shot.

Every team we are battling for the playoffs improved...except for us.

Big time fail job.
I mean, that's just factually wrong:
- The Flyers traded away Sean Walker (and replaced him with the corpse of Erik Johnson)
- The Islanders did absolutely nothing
- That leaves the Lightning, who added Anthony Duclair

One team out of three added a third line level player...and that's the reason we're not making the playoffs???

So is it confirmed yzerman is done?? Or is there actually a chance we made a deal with Calgary that allows us to see edvinsson and johansson this season lol

Put holl in a shipping container to China and no one sees him again for 5 years and we get off the hook??

Interesting thought. If a player is fully healthy, but declared dead because he just disappeared - do we get rid of the cap hit?

Tampa got Dumba and a 3rd for a 5th? Huh? Just to take his contract? I know you guys don't like him but this doesn't seem like a huge price...

It's a good thing you're an engineer because abstract reasoning and hypotheticals completely escape you.

Point to one post of mine where I stated or even implied that Kostin could skate.

The entire point I have made throughout is that ,relative to the eras in which they played, McCarty was the better skater and subsequently the more effective player. Showing Mac skating in the 90s does nothing more or less than support my argument.

[Insert "lol McCarty was better" reply]
Abstract my ass, McCarty is better in a head to head comparison AND he played in a slower era. What part of that don't you get? Kostin can't skate worth a shit, the only player he can hit on a regular basis is the goalie.

Adding Berggren and Ed would be a f***ing dream deadline

Please happen
Trading Kostin leaves us with an open roster spot, right? So either we dress 7 D (throwing in the towel on the season, essentially) or we call up one of Berggren or Kasper.

Here is the thing, though: Yzerman clearly doesn't really care about the playoffs this season. He may well view it as more important that Ed, Kasper, and Berggen all stay in GR to get them into the AHL playoffs and gain experience there.

It sucks, but it's pretty obvious that Yzerman is still looking 2-3 years down the road. I don't like it at all, but he's definitely still slow playing things.

Dumba has been pretty bad this year. And I say that as someone that thought he might turn it around. Tampa looks desperate for NHL bodies more than poised.

"You know there weren't deals out there to improve our hockey team. We are not interested into making lateral moves. The offers weren't there. We believe in our group. We have the opportunity to bring some guys into our lineup from GR."

I expect something along the lines of this...

San Jose retained 17%. So it's about $6.8 million until 2030.

Would anyone here be excited to give up a 1st round pick and a prospect (#32 overall) for a 30-year-old with NMC signed until age 36?

This feels like the kind of thing people around here would really lament.
What if we gave them Cleveland?
