wouldnt you like to know.....
Just to avoid you, tbh :p
wouldnt you like to know.....
How do you know he won't be good here? Didn't you say the same stuff about UPL & Mitts? How about we just keep a young player & try to add. Instead of the cycle of developing guys just to ship them off.People are missing the point completely on this Cozens thing,
Will he be better elsewhere? Of course. Almost anywhere else is a real organization that will surround him with a real NHL caliber team.
Since Adams will NEVER build one of those…it literally doesn’t matter if we keep him. He’s not going to be good here. Unless he has another lucky shooting season and people pretend that’s who he is again.
Everyone worth anything on this team will be better elsewhere. Because they won’t have to play a line over their head with players two lines over their heads.
Adams has spent five years not fixing that problem.
Keep him…trade him…the team is going to continue to end up in the same spot until someone who knows what they’re doing takes the wheel.
Would you prefer I say it won’t matter if he’s good here? Because you’ve ignored that entire part. UPL is good. Where are they with him? Mitts got good before getting shipped out. Team was shit. How do you know he won't be good here? Didn't you say the same stuff about UPL & Mitts? How about we just keep a young player & try to add. Mitts was our best center before the trade and played well, this idiot traded him. Cozens wasn't very good last season, he's even worse this season, he's 37 points pace, Ruff doesn't want him at center anymore, he's terrible on PP and bad on defense, you can tell in games how much he lacks hockey IQ. Sure, we can wait forever for all these young players to get their tools together (not a given), but then we definitely won't make the playoffs. Look for hockey trades to shake up this roster, they're not going anywhere with this players. How do you know he won't be good here? Didn't you say the same stuff about UPL & Mitts? Considering his track record with Eichel, Reinhart snd Mitts he needs to be stopped before assaulting the team further. What does similar caliber player mean?
What Adams expects he should be?
Its really hard to tell. Also he has well over 300 games so I don't know if his problems just stem from a wrong development path (forcing C, goal scoring) besides the pressure he was put in to be a 2C (huge contract after just one good season).
Adams must be excited that somebody is finally calling him
I would like to see them add. The Wild just added dman for ie (Dermott). Whitecloud would be the guy for me and some others, but not sure Vegas would sell or if we have anything they would want. Are the Sabres looking to move Samuelsson?
What’s his value ?
He's on a 45 point pace in his 3rd season after scoring 57 in his rookie campaign. Last year he had 37 points. He's not building off his rookie season. He's down in goals by a lot as the assists are doing the heavy lifting. How can we say Cozens needs a change of scenery and not apply the same thing to Beniers who's pretty much in a similar boat. Why do you think Matty needs a change of scenery? Matt is playing pretty darn good two-way hockey, being one of their top forwards in usage, and on the PP. He's having a rough years in terms of shooting% but hes cleaned up a lot of other areas and hes still creating opportunities and one of their best playmakers on the team.
Another view here from ChadA little bit of a tinfoil hat moment.
Given how terrible Adams is with optics, are these rumors we have heard this year about Cozens, Quinn, etc having “legitimate interest” an effort by the FO to veg fans to quiet down a bit?
Sort of a “hey guys, look good teams think some of our players are good, so shut up please”
I don’t know, everything in this org is dumb.
I doubt it, I'm not calmed down at and other I think so too. Adams can say all he wants that he's trying to make a deal, that our players are being looked at (all players are, that's how the league works), but I've long viewed him as "either you do the job or you get screwed". All this nonsense about failed deals or him trying is useless. Your team has been sucking for so many years and you've done almost nothing to fix it. So that excuse definitely won't work.A little bit of a tinfoil hat moment.

Kraken gave no desire to move beniers and they roll 4 lines pretty equally - they’re not trying to pump up numbers for a couple scoring lines and their team that will win by aggregate success not top players. Very different situation than here in Buffalo. Plus he’s younger….He's on a 45 point pace in his 3rd season after scoring 57 in his rookie campaign. Last year he had 37 points. Could a guy like Gourde be available now? I'm not really sure he'll be good as a 2C, but at least he seems like a decent vet and always plays with energy.Kraken gave no desire to move beniers and they roll 4 lines pretty equally - they’re not trying to pump up numbers for a couple scoring lines and their team that will win by aggregate success not top players. There are also 2 years removed from almost making the conference finals in their 2nd year of existence - you’re comparing apples and oranges. Plus, they’re going to likely be going young after the next one to two years when all over their initial expansion draft veterans contracts expire. Wright and beniers will be leading the next wave ( and before you hop on the wright is struggling train he has been in fire that last 10 games or so over a ppg and like 6/7 goals)
I mean I'm sure there's some paranoia regarding previous decisions, but like you said that can't blind you to the obvious. Just hope the front office is not delusional or in denial as another journo said this week to it all. If your scared of your shadow your in the wrong business.I agree with Chad here, they can't just sit with these guys and keep losing and think, he'll be good on another team. It doesn't matter if he's good or not, it's important to have guys on your team that play well. We had one, we just traded him. Don't sell cheap, but look for different hockey deals.
It's just that Armstrong works, and Adams makes some sham deals on his own.Fowler just went to a team with no palm trees and meh taxes and out of the playoffs.
I understand that there is this paranoia. But seriously, let's look at each case separately. Eichel was already an elite 1C, he just got on a better team, with better teammates, with a better coach and without pressure from the captain to save the franchise. Of course he improved. Reinhart was always a good player and maybe underrated, he has a high hockey IQ and he just break out on a team as good as Eichel, and all the same reasons. Our coaches were Housley and idiot Krueger, plus the constant oppression of this franchise. Mitts was playing well for us anyway, but for some reason our idiot GM needed to trade him, it didn't make sense.I mean I'm sure there's some paranoia regarding previous decisions, but like you said that can't blind you to the obvious. They did not want to pay Mitts, and thought Cozens would be 2C. They flubbed it.I understand that there is this paranoia. But seriously, let's look at each case separately. I agree, unless you want to improve the depth of the RD. Which is also good, it seems Joki is back in the press box. He's not definitely better than Clifton. Yeah, he's an RHD -- but he's not top-4 capable, IMO.
Would you do it? Given that Marner waives and signs an extention?
