Yup, a fast RHD who can disrupt zone entry but is nimble enough to cover more than his share of the ice. Those just aren't available.

Basically what Myers -should- have been, instead of being told to gain 40 lbs.

It's why Jokiharju and him are so awful together. Jokiharju can do none of those things well. With Dahlin he works cause you can't just pressure Dahlin, Jokiharju is perfectly capable of moving the puck out of the zone.

Jokiharju has some of that level of oblivion to his play where he's not aware that someone is behind him or how the breakout is about to develop to be back. Then he's scrambling to try to recover and it's the clown car of bounces and open people around his own net. It's the lack of defensive awareness that seems to derail Henri and I don't think it's every going to come.

I was watching a lot of Dahlin-Jokiharju to see if I could figure out why their fancies work and yet Henri was regularly getting more handles shift-to-shift. Dahlin would be backing out to cover oncoming play and Henri is just single focused on making a pass or shot without looking around and certainly without Dahlin's ability to manipulate checkers with that lateral mobility and hands.

I remember watching young Myers and marveling that I had never seen a guy that big and that young able to front on-coming rushes and direct them to non-dangerous areas the way he could - the wheels and the wingspan working together that first training camp. Then the Chara-fication happened. Maybe it is still Myers.

Previously, I thought maybe Jensen before he went up to Ottawa. Maybe if the Sens year keeps unravelling with this losing streak, he might pop free. In the meantime, it's a need that's going to have to suffer on with what they have until a good candidate appears.

Or maybe if the Bruins finally falter (though it looks like they've rallied again after firing Montgomery) and he's not too too concussed, Carlo.

Spence would be a player I've looked at, but I don't know LAK would be looking to move him. His QoT/QoC disparity is possibly concerning. Those are good defensive metrics against grinders w/ great shutdown teammates.
Well, as I understand it, these are individual metrics that are published after each game. I'm not a big expert in this, but these cards are updated after each game, and we can also see how a player played in a certain game using these cards:

Well I don't know how untouchable Spence is, but they have Doughty and Clarke and he's stuck in the third pair. Maybe some kind of deal could be found.

Kreider would be great especially for our power play unit. Idk what his contract is though.

I am warming to the idea of Patrick Kane. Yes he is 36 but his contract is only 1 year at 4 million. He could play 1st line which would let us move Peterka down to 2nd line strengthing it. I am also assuming he would play PP1 which would hopefully improve it. I don’t think his cost would be much in a trade with Detroit who rumored to be rebuilding.

This back and forth of Rossi is ridiculous, Russo made a report that Rossi MAY be available (he didnt say he is available). All those posts of 'credible Minnesota HF fans' means absolutely nothing and are pretty much saying the same thing 'I don't think he's available but we don't know, if he is then Guerin is a moron'. Regardless of the outcome of Rossi 'Does he get moved or doesn't he get moved', nothing Fjordy said is wrong about the Rossi smoke. I also don't see why anyone would get up in arms over a rumor that is just speculation from an actual Minnesota insider especially trying to use random HFBoard posters as proof to disprove it because they are more sensible.

It's like this, there are some sensible posters but if Lance is saying one thing and the sensible poster is scoffing at it going I don't believe it, its not going to happen, this is just mirrors. I'm still going to go with the insider because I bet, no I guarantee that person has more inside access than a fan who sits in a random seat and attends a game then sits behind a keyboard behind a random username pretending to be whoever they want to be on the internet.

I would like Kreider and am willing to take the risk on his contract. But I don't think I'm willing to pay the roster piece of what it would take (I imagine they'll be asking for Quinn) to do it. I still think Quinn will work his way out of this.

There is no point in trading Quinn for Kreider. Especially since Quinn is already starting to improve. I also thought we needed more of a center than a winger.

I don't really get the desire for Kreider. Man has 0 assists and our team does not struggle to score goals.

By the way, does anyone know where I can find stats on players who are fouled more often?

The Cy Young Award so far is wild. How does a guy with that much icetime not have a puck go off him to a teammate? Keep a puck alive that someone else puts in? Weird for sure.

He's 33 and there is mileage there. I don't know if that's a $6.5M add I would take.

Hr was drafted in 2019. Hed be playing in the nhl this yr if buffalo didnt acquire Byram
My bad. I googled it and saw this:

Screenshot 2024-11-25 125619.jpg

When you click into it, it shows he was drafted 2019 as you said.

My point about D taking a while to develop still stands though. There are no guarantees any of our RD prospects will make the NHL, and even if they do, it could be several years out before they are ready to make an impact.

Yeah that's what I see too. Dahlin and Jokiharju work because Dahlin can challenge possession and Jokiharju can transfer possession up ice. It's good in that it works and plays winning 5v5 hockey against basically all but the most premium opponents. It's bad in that it doesn't leverage Dahlin's transition skills.

Where we diverge is Carlo
