There's no way to judge this contract right now (for the record, I was in the pro trade Kreider camp). Unless we're forced to move ADA for cap reasons no one can evaluate this contract for at least 3 years.

And hopefully after that 3rd season he has a modified NTC. Anyone have details on the extension?

Kreider's better and more important for our team, and makes 1 million less per year. I don't get your point? People are calling it an awful deal and I'm pointing out what a real awful deal looks like. I know everyone wants a team with nothing but ELC players but thats not how it works.

How it works is we now have 9 million to sign 7 players, non of that includes Fast, Strome, DeAngelo, or Buch.

It’s insufferable.

Bunch of little children crying they didn’t get a toy with their happy meal.

Like, I get not liking the contract or whatever. Some criticism is expected and okay. But some the responses are pathetic and ridiculously over the top.

Good thing the Chiefs offseason last year prepared me for this.

I'm OK with it. Buch's writing was on the wall.. Once Kravtsov is ready

But see, I think there's a big component that people don't really think about --- and that's the return for some of those names.

It's kind of like when people see a salary but they don't take out for taxes, health care, expenses, etc.

So it's not just a matter of moving Strome and Buch and we magically have $6 million to play with. It's a matter of who you get back for them, and in also recognizing that for as eager as some are to move these guys, they'll represent a combined 120 points on this roster.

Absolutely this times 100. People around here fall in love with the notion of hitting a home run pick-- it almost never happens. Smart move keeping a known piece rather than falling for the dream of hitting that home run
