I really like the deal, but we'll see if his body can stay up to date. This to me seems that they'll try to trade Strome, Fast and Skjei. Trouba signing looks kind of scary now....

I am more optimistic that Kreider will age well compared to other players in their mid 30s. I think this is really going to be judged on how buy out friendly the last couple years are. And which 1-2 players of Buch, Skjei, Strome, and DeAngelo now need to be sacrificed over this signing.

Moving/Clearing Skjei, Staal, Smith, HL and possibly Buch/Strome.

While I am concerned about the 7 year term, I, on the other hand, am thrilled. Kreider is a huge piece of this team moving forward. He is the de facto captain and leader and a much needed adult in the room. I’m content to let management worry about the cap implications in 2026 and 2027.

I really don't think the concern is 2026/27.

I think where we have to get creative is next year.

Kreider's better and more important for our team, and makes 1 million less per year. I don't get your point? People are calling it an awful deal and I'm pointing out what a real awful deal looks like. I know everyone wants a team with nothing but ELC players but thats not how it works.

crying over 6.5 mil (by the way cry babies Skinner makes 9 plus and isn’t half the player kreider is not is Hayes so stop comparing them) with a cap that’s going to be 90 mil shortly is HF level embarrassing

guy is one of our best players. You pay those guys. If anything this means that some fringe guy like Strome Skjei Buchnevich Fast won’t be here long
