I can't help but be reminded of what JD, Gorton and Quinn kept repeating at the round table early on in the season. They kept repeating the word patience and kept reiterating that building a true contender takes time. I think they stick to the plan and are sellers by 3PM.

To be honest, I am fairly certain that their big fear is the Cap issues that they have in front of them, not necessarily to stockpile more picks and prospects.

I don't want Kreider resigned, and I know I am pretty alone with this, as long as we don't make a long-term commitment I am fine with just about everything, even "self-renting"...

You are not alone. I am with you. Honestly, I also think this team could use one more top 10 pick. I really like Kreider, but he is ultimately a complimentary player. He doesn't drive play like Zib or Panarin. He definitely drives possession, but the offense doesn't revolve around him. Perfect complimentary player... which means there is no need to invest big on someone who is only going to diminish going forward.

Why is Rykov brought up ?

Andersson I mean he’s A goner eventually

Few posts on here mentioning Rykov In trade.
Lias I know is a goner but I would give him time in Sweden before dealing him so soon

Great to see the Islanders buying. They are an aging team who basically has to go for it, but are just not that good and are saddled with contracts that either are or will be awful in the coming years.

Stay the course with the rebuild today, Gorts. You’ve shown that you know how to draft well - burying the “draft is a crapshoot,” rebuttal. It’s not a crapshoot, it’s an inexact science that can be taken advantage of by those who are more insightful or more well prepared than their counterparts, and you are one of the former.

You’ve struck gold and given us a goaltender of the future, a young defensive core that’s the envy of the league, and a couple of long term high end pieces. But the forward depth remains thin and we lack the final piece or two to run roughshod over the league.

Don’t give in to rebuild fatigue. Your job is safe. The playoffs are practically a guarantee in the future, probably as soon as next season.

Acquiring assets like you have has so far made the Rangers rebuild a wonder that has been discussed league-wide for its excellence and expediency. Run it back one more time. You are winning these trades and sell offs.... let’s do it one more time today. And then we are off to the races.

Your decisions today might lock us in to being simply a future “good” team, or propel us to talent levels that allow us to be a truly “great” one. Don’t settle for good because of impatience or emotional attachment. Go for great. The fans will thank you eventually. All of them.

Sorry - and the jist there is that a team could be willing to trade for Buff with the understanding he's not playing this season?

Yeah, basically Elliotte came out and shed some light on the situation saying he will most likely not get moved/terminated in WIN and ultimately not play this season. Dreger tweeted to confirm, however, he mentioned that teams have been creative in the past.
