Just got back to Winnipeg after a week in your awesome State, I caught both games on the weekend and I have to say the game at the Staples Center was the most fun I have had at a hockey game! I thought we had a great atmosphere at the MTS Center, that night was better than any night I have had at home! King fans around us were super friendly people we met in the concourse were super friendly, that arena is second to none, you guys love hockey as much as we do! If I crossed your path that night thanks for making it a awesome game day experience! Good luck the rest of the way!

Awesome - glad you had fun! That was a wild game so if the crowd weren't into it, that would be really disappointing.

What other things did you do in So Cal? I'm always curious to see what people like and don't like when they visit.

Thank you

By chance did you sit in the Premier seats (PR 15)

Your conversation sounds a lot like one two Winnipeg fans were having on the way out right in front of me

Either way , I am really glad you enjoyed yourself

We did the typical touristy stuff, Hollywood, Disney, The Price Is Right etc .we took a drive down the Pacific Coast Hwy stopping every where that looked interesting, the State is unbelievably scenic, Huntington Beach was my favourite spot never seen guys surfing in person before, next time I come out I am going to give it a go. We sat in sec 108 row 20 right against concrete half wall.

I am glad you saw Huntington. I think it is our best beach, the waves, the girls, the breweries, the girls.

PCH is a hell of a drive. :)

Thanks for sharing a positive experience. RP vows that next time we'll be much more classless :sarcasm:

That was a pretty exciting game so you picked a good one. Most of the fans are always super friendly if you aren't waving a flag in their face while spilling your beer on their infant. But yeah, Staples is always better live than on tv, it seems to get drowned out by production on any night. Except maybe that Dustin Brown empty netter sealing the Blues sweep. But I digress.

I hope to get up there for a Canadian road trip sometime next year!

I've lived in California my whole life (34 y/o) and it took me going to Hawaii a few years ago to actually want to try and surf. I've been going once or twice a month for the past year or so and I still suck. It is a lot harder than it looks! I snowboarded and skateboarded when I was younger and can still do both at an acceptable level. Surfing is a whole other animal.

I forgot the fans also yell "True North" during that part of the Canadian anthem.

Other than the "You suck" chants, we're a pretty tame crowd overall. Used to having a lot of out of town fans in the arena.

It got pretty greasy with the ****ing Ranger fans in the SCF, but other than that, I agree we are a pretty tame crowd.

BTW, there were A LOT of fans for games 1 and 2 but very few for game 5. So loyal, those Raggy fans. :)

I saw a "street performer" hammer a nail into his nose on the pier. Good times. He was totally a method performer too. He clearly hadn't showered or cleaned his clothes in months so he could really set the tone. I appreciate a strong dedication to artistry.

Certain opponents make the fans more chippy..like when the Canucks come to town.

I got yelled at by an old lady who was a Hawks fan. It was kind of my fault but an accident. I was stepping down a row because my seat was in the middle and my row was pretty crowded so I went to the one above which had less people to reach my seat. I'm tall enough to step over the seats below me but got my other foot got caught a little on her son's seat. I apologized then she proceeded to yell at me for a whole minute because she thought I got his seat dirty. When her son came back she started to talk **** about me and other Kings fans then called me a baby of all things.

Tell 'em to **** off next time.

Tell granny and her son they can **** off too!

I've never had any problems at Kings games, but I've had some rival school fans mouth off at SC games. Usually Notre Dame or UCLA. Take a guess what I told them!
