Whatever the on-ice product, he's a classy dude. Blocked shots. Uh, stuff.

Regardless, I have no bad feelings about him. They were all directed at the coaches for playing him.

I mean, he seemed like a good guy and didn't cause problems... but

1) He overcharged us big time, $2.5m is nuts

2) He clearly wasn't interesting in playing Hockey last year, and not much better this year...

So... kind of hard to 'thank' him. Most he's getting out of me is "good luck"

last year i do not blame him, and you can't blame him for playing through it considering he had signed the contract before the accident.

this year he has been better, but obviously not up to the standards that every one thought we were getting when we signed him.

He played lazy and disinterested every single night.

No thanks.
What? The dude played with heart. Yeah his skillset was not what we needed now but let's no all of a sudden try and change history.
Thanks Michal

Thanks Zues for a 4th round pick and some decent face off wins and SO goals.

Overall, i really think his time is/was past for the new NHL, just to slow. It's like he's got lead in his feet *and* pants.

Give me a break, no he did not. Last year especially he looked like he'd rather be ANYWHERE else but on the ice. This year, he started off looking better and more comfortable, but regressed right back to where he was.

While I'll admit that he was pretty bad with us, we acquired him right before the Lokomotiv plane crash and if many of you may recall he was really broken up about Pavol Demitra's death because they were really good friends and teammates and I think that was really haunting him last season and clearly he never bounced back. Thanks for your services Zeus! :handclap:

I don't blame him (last year at least) for being in the dumps. And I said, he seemed like a good guy off the ice from what I saw, but we really are better off without him. I do wish him the best, but let's not romanticize how much of a massive train-wreck his being here was.

Which is more likely due to old age and injuries, not because of the lack of effort.
Can't really blame him for asking for 2.5 million either. DW could have offered that on the spot for all we know, and that was the going price for a 3C that off-season.

Handzus didn't play well, but I never questioned his effort this season. Last season maybe, but that's understandable (not to mention he was very injured last year too).

Again, I'm not mad at the guy, but when we signed him most of us all facepalmed because we knew how much he sucked. Then he was worse, so much worse, than that.

Well, McGinn credited his development and spike in offense to Zeus, which is why he was traded along with Sgarbossa for Winnik and TJ, with Winnik not re-signing, leaving us with TJ in the dog house.

So ... thanks for nothing?

fwiw alot of us were pretty happy with the signing, as he was good on the kings. turned out he completely lost his will to play this game after his buddy demitriov died, so yeah ended up to be a bad signing. oh well, hope he continues to suck since i don't like the hawks.
