This, he said nothing about teams being terrified of the Panthers, they’re wary of the team adding a big price and going on another run. That's not what he means at all...
He just means teams are worried about Florida looking to add a big piece. Not that they're afraid to trade with them. Why would they be afraid to make trades
I mean maybe. Yo could argue though that teams may be wary to deal with them as well. Regardless teams are still terrified about them. That's not what he means at all...

And Tippet + a 1st for GirouxFlorida traded a first for Chiarot. Even well run teams make bad trades.
Probably both but puck moving that isn’t terrible defensively seems to be the consensus. What kind of D? Defensive? Puck moving?
That was a good trade for Florida in the long term. Tippett just isn’t a Florida player and never would I have been. Giroux helped them get their feet wet in playoffs. And Tippet + a 1st for Giroux
Who on the Hawks would we be looking at? Your D minus the young guys with potential is pretty gross.I am confused, how are teams terrified to trade with Florida?
Looking for a RD you say, Hope they call Hawks
Much better. I appreciate it!Thread title edited for clarity

He makes no sense. Not at his cap hit, even retained, especially with the term. No thanks.Karlsson makes way too much sense. RHD that can help run their top PP unit.
They won the cup because of that trade. Zito said this team isn’t built well enough to win and then got Tkachuk after. The trade on paper might look bad (I always thought Tippett sucked) but in the long term that trade got us the cup because the mindset and team changed due to that failure.Like most trades for playoff rentals, unless you win the cup or at least go far in the playoffs because of the acquisition, it's a long-term loser.
There's no question trading Tippett + 1st for Giroux to get swept by Tampa in round 2 was not a good trade in hindsight.
No cap room. Even retained, same issue with KarlssonSeth Jones seems like their kind of target. Someone with a rep for being bad but has size and puck ability.
he's learned since then. Glad Tippett is doing better up there, but that trade and the outcome resulted in jettisoning Huberdeau and bringing in Tkachuk.Like most trades for playoff rentals, unless you win the cup or at least go far in the playoffs because of the acquisition, it's a long-term loser.

Both are far better defensively, this is a heavily defensive minded team and Karlsson is awful on the back end, imo. Sure, we could use a better puck mover, but I'd rather a defensive minded guy with size than a Karlsson or Jones.RHD, still one of the best offensive D in the league, likely can be acquired for cheap due to his full NMC and lack of options for Pittsbugh.
The biggest need I see on the Panthers is an elite PP QB who can help drive offense from the backend. Ekblad (at this stage in his career) and Forsling aren't that.
Karlsson would have to be 50 percent retained and the cost would have to be minimal. Just doesn’t seem like a fit.RHD, still one of the best offensive D in the league, likely can be acquired for cheap due to his full NMC and lack of options for Pittsbugh.
