Germany is obviously not a juggernaut but I think the team played well overall today, especially against a team who has put in a lot of preparation for the tournament while the US has only had a couple of practices.

I didn't like the unforced odd-man chances in the 3rd that led to 2 goals against, the disjointed PP, and the Gauthier injury on a cheap shot.

I liked that quite a few guys were clearly feeling it today. O'Connor, Grimaldi, Garland, etc. The skating ability and hustle were apparent today. Not surprising as they clearly built a team for that but good to see it come to fruition so far.

Perbix will make the defense better once he's in the lineup.

As with most of these tournaments, special teams are the focus to get dialed up as quickly as possible.

It's sad to see how quickly especially goalies sometimes lose their confidence. Petersen and Campbell are good examples of this. It is very difficult to get it back.

Well....we didn't look terrible...

Fast skating team like most of us said. If we get any type of goaltending we have the chance to be dangerous. This is the kind of team that is so easy to root for.

Let's play a prediction game: Top 3 Point Predictions for the tournament for USA players?
Feel free to add any reasoning also if needed.

Example:

1. Garland 3+11 = 14 pts
2. Tuch 4+7 = 11 pts
3. Grimaldi 6+3 = 9 pts

I think they just wanted to fill out the roster.
I agree. He was a willing victim....I mean participant. Honestly, I don't even care. This is an inexperienced, but hard working, fast, and skilled lineup. Just lean into that. I can only hope DeSmith (or whoever) is up to the challenge.
