WC: Team USA 2025 - Golden

Danes deserved that so much. Massive last period. Great push with nothing to lose mentality in front of their own people. I loved that. What a moment. Canada losing like that feels so sweet.

Canada just doesn't take this tourney seriously. It's a European family vacation with some hockey on the side. Even when their stars show up they don't perform. Obviously got outcoached, as usual.

Am I doing this right?

Garland deserves all the credit in the world. He gives it all every second he's on the ice and gets the job done. I hope he has a big semi and some of energy rubs off on guys like Keller and Thompson.

Did not realize Patrick Kane played that many games. As far as Garland, his interview on NHL Network, right before the WC started, was pretty telling.

Garland was talking with Brian Boyle about how much he loves putting on the USA jersey. Kids a class act. And absolute pain to play against.

Garland should get Olympic team consideration. Not that he would or should make it, but he can play any where in the lineup, he's a dog on a bone on the ice, he's shown up multiple times to the WC, and he always delivers when in a USAH jersey.

Interesting to see the name Paul Coppo on that list. Teammate of Herb Brooks on Team USA in the mid-60's.

Can't help thinking there were some college players of that era that deserved a shot at pro hockey but the landscape was very different prior to expansion and then the USA team of 1980.

Might make for a great feature on the NHL Network or one of those ESPN 30 for 30s if they still do them.

Sad to see that Len Lilyholm and his wife passed in a car accident this past winter. He also coached the USA U20 team and had quite a career as an architect following his hockey career.

Clearly a different era - in one world championship the USA played in the B tournament - but it would be nice if USA Hockey told more about the early years of hockey in our country.
