Are they peaking at the right time? It felt like it could be another WC disappointment after they let Finland establish their preferred game after the opening Garland goal. Unlike the game against the Swiss, though, they didn't get frustrated and eventually took back over the game and the scoreboard. Since the Buium goal it's been a dominant performance.

The performance these last 2 games has really come out of nowhere.

The only thing more consistent than USAH underperformance at the WC is SK94 pessimism

Knowing how we generally do at this tournament, we will now lose the semifinal (although it might be a close one), and get our asses kicked in the bronze medal game because the players will play like they'd rather be doing literally anything else other than playing for bronze.
Also, with Switzerland having won as the #2 seed, there is no combination of results in the other two quarterfinals that will make it possible for us to play Canada in the semifinal (I don't think it was a possibility before the games started today anyway). We will play Switzerland assuming Canada takes care of business against Denmark, or if Denmark pulls off the miracle upset, we will play the winner of Sweden vs. Czech Republic.

If Denmark does pull off the miracle upset, then they'll face Switzerland in the semifinal, leaving us to face the winner of Sweden vs. Czech Republic regardless of who wins. I believe the higher seed gets to be the designated home team, so Sweden would have last change over us, but we'd have last change over the Czechs.
