It's honestly baffling that Rakell isn't consistently ppg in the nhl. Great shooter, fantastic hands, very good playmaker, sees the ice well and he's strong and shifty on his skates. He's had a good team around him as well .

He struggled when we had him at center in the beginning of his career... but once we swapped him onto the wing his game has really improved... hes looked more confident with the puck, I assume because he has less defensive responsibilities.

But skill for skill I think rakell is 1 of the more underrated players in the league, hes got a great shot, great skating, great hands, probably a little underated along the boards/defensively but hes acutally not bad in those situations, finds the holes in the defense but also isnt afarid to go to the net and score dirty goals. The scary part is he just seems to be getting better and better every year.

His point progression in the last 4 seasons 31(.44ppg)- 43(.60 ppg) - 51(.72 ppg) - 69(.90 ppg), and if I had to bet, id say he hits a ppg next season, that's pretty impressive growth, great pick by Anaheim at the 30 spot. He also plays on a team where dump and chase is our thing and creativity isn't really allowed... I feel like he could do amazing things on a more explosive offensive team like Winnipeg/Toronto/pitt etc.

A little known fact is that only McDavid and Matthews have more even strength goals than Rakell for the last two seasons. He can easily put up 40+ goals if both he and Getzlaf are healthy for a full season.

He could be good on the powerplay though.

Now he only needs to cut himself accross the eyebrow with a knife - or if possible with Magnus Pääjärvi's left side skate. He'll be set for life. Chicks dig scars across the brow.

Pettersson has been badly utilized so far, he needs to be allowed to grow into the tournament. Making the assumption that he is not going to have an impact based on one game is stupid.

Have a hard time seing him being good on the PP though unless they decide to replace Garpenlöv mid-tournament he is quite possibly the worst PP coach in the world.

It was obvious that Pettersson was nervous(and tried to force things to happen), and new to a faster game compared to SHL, should take him some games to work out the kinks. He obviously won't become the impact player Rakell is this tournament.

Tre kronor coaches is like an inbreed. They need to clean big time when gronborgs contract is up.

Always be no.3 of the small guys, Arvidsson and Nylander and end up in Kloten with Willies brother. Lias will be banned for life, ending up there too. Jonathan Dahlen will be there first, though. Foppa moves to Zurich soon.

Grönborg is not really the problem though he has a good relationship with the players which is important however his assistants are not very good.

He is a plus when it comes to bringing in NHLers, coaching and utilizing his players however...

Agreed that’s why he needs new assistants. For example, I don’t think its a coincidence that the game last night was the best defensive game I’ve seen from Sweden in quite a while.

Yeah, we need new assistants, but I doubt our current ones made Grönborg not invite players like Pettersson and Olofsson, and barely play Dahlin @ olympics.

Popovic will miss tomorrows game.
 
Caps up 3-2, I am happy for Bäckström hoping he can finally get to go all the way.
 
Apparently Bäckström went off the ice with an injury tonight, so we can safely assume that there is not even the slightest chance of him joining. Even if they were to be eliminated.
 
If arvidsson and forsberg accepts i guess thats the end of petterssons whc. Kinda double edged sword.
 
Nashville can still win... BUT, it will be really really tough for them trying to win a game 6 in Winnipeg when the Winnipeg guys are hungry to finish it in front of the home crowd. The defense isn't there, Rinne isn't the Vezina goalie he was in the regular season.

Capitals-Penguins is still in Penguins' favor until Capitals finally win against them.

Also; Garpenlöv will coach the defense until Popovic returns, Tomas Montén will take over Garpenlöv's role coaching the forwards.
