WC: Team Sweden Roster

why are you asking? they are not good enough for this team. both of them where terrible in olympics. staffan kronwall will never again play in tre kronor, he ended his national team career after the olympics.

What would strongest possible team Sweden look like ?

Rakell - Bäckström - Nylander
Forsberg - William Karlsson - Arvidsson
Elias Lindholm - Zetterberg - Silfverberg
Landeskog - Zibanejad - Hörnqvist

Hedman - Strålman
Ekholm - Karlsson
Lindholm - Klingberg

Lundqvist
Lehner
Markström

If god could let us have this team in World Champioship....hehehe it would be like 1998 again!

Its too bad about olympics, this team would have been a serious contender for the gold....or i am being a homer for saying that ?

Saying that team wouldn’t be a serious contender for the gold in any tournament would be delusional.

That said we really really NEED to get better at developing forwards and goalies.

Stralman's game has dropped off. I think OEL would be a better pick.
 
The best we could field RIGHT NOW(taking into account players which are hot, right now) is:

Forsberg - Karlsson - Arvidsson
Rakell - Bäckström - Nylander
Landeskog - Zetterberg - Hörnqvist
Steen - Zibenejad - Lindholm

Hedman - Karlsson

OEL -Lindholm

Our D would be pure filth.

coach didn't want to trust an 18yo defenseman even as 7th d. It's a shame.

Didn’t show enough offensively and not good enough in his own end is my guess as to the reasoning behind him being cut. He’s still young, will be stronger next year.

Take puck -> drive to corner -> take bad angle shot -> have puck miss net and exit the offensive zone.

a story of carl klingberg. I'll give you this, he might not have been GOD awful but he was really bad. There has to be a better option for you
 
He'll be on the 3rd/4th line if he even gets to play, if we get a forward from the playoffs he's likely gone from the roster, so eh.
 
I feel like Carl Klingberg is a good option for the fourth line. Maybe the player he was three years ago wasn't good enough for Sweden's WC roster, but considering his competition for the last couple of forward spots are Norman and Everberg, I hope they go with the older Klingberg brother.

Was good enough to win a WCH gold last year.

He's got limited hockey sense but I dunno about that drive to corner stuff, he constantly goes in front of the net nowadays and is one of the hardest workers.

Should be noted that he only got to play until Bäckström & Lindberg came, so while he has a WCH gold, he wasn't playing in the playoffs.

Pretty much what I expected, except for Pettersson with Backlund, which is a welcome surprise. I assume Kempe-Andersson-Temporary is a 4th line which will be bumped up to 3rd if we get a round 2 reinforcement forward, because they don't want to split up the Pääjärvi-Larsson-DLR line unless we get no reinforcement forward.
