WC: Team Sweden Roster

The depth we have in Europe is good with a mix of veterans, returnees from North America and prospects. But it's lacking in high-end quality(relatively speaking), so I see it as natural you can see vastly different players suddenly competing, many of them are interchangeable on a regular day(people will have their preferences, but that's about it). It probably has a lot to do with form and hunger really, these guys are younger and they want to prove themselves and are willing to do it by playing many exhibition games and won't mind eating popcorn in the pressbox later on either.

In hindsight I would've rather seen Dahlin not play Olympics and get his chance here. But at least we will get to see some of the other guys you mention. Will be much more rewarding to get the chance here for a young player.
 
Well this is clearly not a team ready for the whc. Poppe needs to coach a defense properly for once.
 
I think adding Rakell will help a lot, Nyqvist and Lindholm too. I like JDLR and MPS but at some point you have to score.

Pettersson to the WC must be a done deal. He makes things happen out of nothing, find a good environment for him and he could have a fantastic tournament.
 
The chances of William Karlsson accepting if they get knocked out are very, very, very slim. A guy who just became a promising 1C after years in the bottom 6 in a different club with no contract next season.

Lindholm & Rakell will be big boosts, especially Rakell, who can do something most Swedish forwards can't; score. Obviously Karlsson would be better, but Rakell is still pretty great.

you dont think nyquist will be big boost ?
 
bäckström will decline, he is 30 and already played alot of whc. burakovsky has a injury. djoos is not good enough.

melker karlsson and marcus sörensen is not good enough.

william karlsson will decline due to contract issues and oscar lindberg is not good enough.

ekholm will decline since he already played 500 whc and järnkrok is not good enough.

hedman and strålman will both decline, they where part of the gold team last year and will take a year off.

enström have ended his tre kronor career.

only realistic players who will accept is forsberg and arvidsson.

Pretty sure I read somewhere that Burakovsky will go if WSH is eliminated.

That’s not true at all. Rakell is easily better than Karlsson at this point, Rakell has been close to a 70 point pace before Karlsson hasn’t even been close to a 50 point pace before. If you think he’s ever going to hit 70+ again I think you are kidding yourself.

Karlsson however has clearly gotten better by the #1 center role on vegas however I think he’s most likely going to be a 50-55 point center with good defense going forward, which is still a really good player.

Grönborg barely played Pettersson with Janmark & Zibanejad, I doubt he'll put Pettersson on the first line.

I'm talking in the context of this season. He might not put up the same numbers next season, but this season he's steaming hot.

i dont want to see john f***ing norman, everberg, lias on top 6. the best players should be in top 6 .

Probably true, forsberg and arvidsson would be pretty huge though
