Many Canadians have said how Canada could ice two competitive teams in international competitions. That IIHF probably wouldn't allow this, but perhaps we could get around this by having Quebec seperate from Canada (for strictly hockey, and not political reasons), and then there could be a Quebec and Canadian team. Line up suggestions anyone??

Having Quebec compete as a separate country in hockey could be fun. In soccer, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales all have their own national teams, even though they belong to the UK.

You darn sneaky Swedes! I almost fell for the wouldn't it be `fun' argument. Then you guys would come in a kick our badly depleted butts. Damn you're good!

Quebec would get slaughtered...

They have the gifted offensive players, and the goaltending, but the defense leaves a heck of a lot to be desired.

They'd definitely be better on the big ice, but on the small ice they would be in trouble.

As for whether or not the IIHF would allow it... don't the under-18's or 17's have like 4 Canadian teams?

That's like saying that Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark could team up and form the "Scandinavians". All of those (Scotland, Wales, etc.) are their own seperate country still.
