I am going with the slavs, simply because of the iconic slavic squat

Is Ullmark considered to be #1 in the Nordics now? I am a big Ullmark fan so I love it if that is the case. Can you chip in Goalofsson there aswell somewhere?

Defense is so much better for nordic that they also help when they are attacking. Hintz makes it before Nylander, Bratt or Zuccarello.

I’m going to go with team Nordic. having a good defence group is paramount for success. Even though I like team Slavic’s forwards and goalie much better, team Nordic’s defence will help with defence and generating offence.

Saros should be #1 on the nordic team, although he's not been playing up to his standards this season. Voted team nordic, because their defense is on another level compared to team slavic.

As a Slav, I want nothing to do with this team Slavic. Anyway, the Nordic defense is so much better, they win this hands down.

Also, Erik Cernak is easily a better option on defense than some of these players.

The odds of team Slavic fighting would be much lower IMO.

Voted team Nordic mainly because of a superior defense.

Toss-up or edge slavic

Slavic has better high end talents up front and Vasi > Ullmark imo

Nordic has a far better dmen group

Good poll
There is actually not even an offensive edge for Team Slavic. Team Nordic has a top-notch D, better C-depth by far and much better 2-way players.. Nichuskin, Kopitar and Krejci wouldnt fit Nordic offense and none of the Slavic D.

Landeskog - Hintz - Rantanen
Forsberg - Barkov - Laine
Pettersson - Aho - Zibanejad
Zuccarello/Bratt - Lindholm - Nylander

Hedman - Dahlin
Heiskanen - Karlsson
Lindholm - Lindell

Saros
Ullmark

I`d structure the team like this. Hintz is a similar speedster as MacKinnon, so he should be a fit with Lany+Rants. Barkov and Laine train together during summers, so they should have chemistry. I`d like to see a defensive third pairing on D and Lindholm+Lindell should be ok for that. Cant have all offensive D:s. Center-depth is unreal and 2-way play should also be good.

Impossible to overlook defense of first team. I prefer both goalie and offense in team 2, but it doesn't even matter with the huge gap in defense

I’m not so sure on Saros vs Ullmark. Their career stats are the same and Ullmark spent most of his career on some pretty difficult to play for Buffalo teams.

There is 0 defenders on Team Slavic, that would sniff Team Nordic. Also about C-depth:

2021-2022

Barkov 67gp 39g 49a 88p +36
Hintz 80gp 37g 35a 72p +15
Aho 79gp 37g 44a 81p +18
Lindholm 82gp 42g 40a 82 +61
Zibanejad 81gp 29g 52a 81p +30
Pettersson 80gp 32g 36a 68p +1

vs.

Malkin 41gp 20g 22a 42p -10
Kuznetsov 79gp 24g 54a 78p +7
Kopitar 81gp 19g 48a 67p -6
Krejci ----- played in Czech. 2020-2021 51gp 8g 36a 44p +16

You really think the slavic have better centers? Kopitar is the only 200ft player and Barkov, Lindholm, Hintz and Aho are all better at this point.

In 2019 World Cup. The top-notch Russian team lost to Finlands C-team. I really dont think they have any chance against FIN/SWE A-team.
