I got a jersey today for my high school team, but the jersey is too big. This is probably normal right? How should I deal with the problem? I don't want to look like a turkey out there with a huge jersey that doesn't fit, what should I do?

Change it for another one, or if that's not an option, Gretzky tuck. My team's jerseys are too big for about half the team, and the ones who tuck in look completely normal despite being two sizes up from what they should be.

Tuck it or get it altered (measurements changed to fit you) if that is allowed.

This may be a stupid question, but what is the correct way to tuck a jersey in ? When I do it it doesn't look right.

Throw on your gear and stand in front of the mirror at home and just try side, the other side, back, full (OK, don't do full) and see which looks good on you. Turn around and check the back too, bend down... like you're in the changing room and the store, seeing if a new suit looks nice.

Don't wait until the locker room to size yourself up in the mirror by the sink and showers, because you'll look like an idiot. Just make sure it's not bunched up weirdly or too far in, and you'll look fine.

You shouldn't worry about looking like a turkey as long as you don't play like one.

 My skills are pretty bad so I already failed in that department.

Anyways:

Once I throw the jersey on with all my pads, I think the jersey fits fine, I will try the jersey on with my pads on before my 1st game on wednesday and see if I need to tuck it or not.
