I'll actually get really mad or disappointed if this (joke?) of a coach selects some no name forward playing in the NA before others like say Vesterinen, Hynninen and so on... Those guys are clear alternatives for the bottom6.
It's another thing to choose Muhonen, Nurmi and others that are even with some prospects playing in Europe just because they're already playing in smaller rinks and are a bit more adjusted to the faster game. But these guys will also be in the bottom6 or bottom pair amongst D's.
For an example, I can understand if Muhonen and Väisänen are a better fit than prospects like Kiukas, Nieminen and others for bottom pairings. Even if Kiukas numbers this year are quite impressive. And he will not go before Pieniniemi nor Kiviharju and the balance is always important.
I also hope that they have the guts to pick a player like Saarelainen before underperforming players from the NA. I mean Hemming has stepped up his production a little bit lately, but his numbers aren't nothing but a disappointment and he's not a fourth line winger. There I see all those options I mentioned above as better alternatives including Nurmi.
But yeah, if they pick or consider say Ruohonen, Sinivuori and Loponen as better fits than Ylitalo, Alasiurua or Huttu. Well, that's not controversial at least.
Edit: The 2006 born players are really deep for Finland with late bloomers such as Kuhta and others. Next year I wouldn't be surprised if all players are born 2006.
