Interesting that they decided to release the camp roster already with half of the potential players still on the playoffs.

Nice to see Kotkaniemi and Kupari get an camp invite from the 00 borns.

Missing from the roster:

Defense:

Vaakanainen
Heiskanen
Jokiharju
Räsänen?
Vesterinen?

Forwards:

Heponiemi
Tolvanen
Moilanen
Nyman
Hartikainen?

Heponiemi, Moilanen and Jokiharju are all playing WHL playoffs.
Vesterinen plays QMJHL playoffs and Nyman and Räsänen OHL playoffs.

Heiskanen and Vaakanainen are playing liiga playoffs.
JYP vs HPK series is 2-2 and TPS vs HIFK series is also 2-2.

That is Heiskanen and Vaakanainen coming to U18 WJC's depends a lot how far HIFK and JYP goes in liiga playoffs.

Sioux City is going to USHL playoffs and Tolvanen is Sioux City's top scorer.
I don't know what's the situation of Santeri Hartikainen.

Finland will add more players in their camp roster when 1st playoff series's are over.
Finland's team in U18 WJC's will announced after 2nd U18 WJC camp in 12 April.

- Portland is currently losing on the first round 2-1, Jokiharju could be available.

- Seattle is leading 3-0 on the first round, Moilanen is unlikely to be available.

- Swift Current is tied at 2-2 with Game 7 being played April 3rd so Heponiemi is 50/50

- Kingston is losing 2-1, Nyman and Räsänen could be available.

- Shawinigan is tied 2-2, Vesterinen is 50/50

- Sioux City is leading the USHL in points and the playoffs haven't even started yet so seems unlikely Tolvanen would be there.

- Liiga's Game 7's of semi finals are being played on 15.4 so Vaakanainen or Heiskanen could still make it on time, even if HIFK/JYP advance to the next round.

Best lineup we could get would probably be something like this then:

Vesalainen-Heponiemi-Ikonen
Nyman-Virtanen-Ylönen
Kotkaniemi-Koskenkorva-Kupari
Aalto-Talvitie-Maansaari
Enberg

Vaakanainen/Heiskanen - Jokiharju
Kaskinen/Anttalainen - Räsänen/Vesterinen
Teräväinen/Utunen - Latvala/Isiguzo

Luukkonen, Autio, Lehtinen

No idea how the defense shapes up after the first pair.

Finnish hockey association has added more players Finland's U18 WJC training camp roster.

New players are.
Juho Korhonen Oulun Kärpät
Vili Laitinen Espoo Blues
Erkka Seppälä HPK Hämeenlinna
Jussi Tammela Kalpa Kuopio.

Aleksi Heponiemi's Swift-Current and Henri Jokiharju's Portland advanced 2nd round in WHL playoffs last night.

This means Heponiemi and Jokiharju will miss Finland's first preliminary round games in U18 WJC's.
Also Sami Moilanen will miss Finland's first preliminary round games in U18 WJC's Seattle advanced 2nd playoff round in WHL defeating Tri-City 4-0.

Eemeli Räsänen's and Linus Nyman's Kingston Frontenacs advanced 2nd round in OHL playoffs last night.
Right now seems that Finland isn't getting much players in North America.

Finland's U18 WJC team will announced Tomorrow ( Wednesday) or Thursday afternoon.
But deadline when rosters should be finalized is before U18 WJC quarterfinals ( if i'm not mistaken)

Aleksi Heponiemi's Swift-Current win Regina Pats 5-4 in overtime last nights 4th WHL semifinal game.

Swift-Current leads Regina series 3-1 and is one win away of WHL finals.
Seems really likely Heponiemi will miss U18 WJC's.

Henri Jokiharju's Portland is down 2-1 in WHL playoffs against Kelowna.
Jokiharju's chances to participate in U18 WJC's are 50-50.

Linus Nyman's and Eemeli Räsänen's Kingston is down 3-0 against Peterborough Petes in OHL playoffs.
Looks really good for that at least Nyman and Räsänen are coming to U18 WJC's ( If Kingston release them)

Good info guys.

I had totally forgotten about this tournament. Was a nice surprise reading that it starts tomorrow in the Finnish media. I'm surprised how silent media has been about this, we're the defending champs after all. All focus on Laine has confused everyone.

HIFK lost 5th liiga semifinal game against Tappara tonight.
This means Miro Heiskanen is free to participate Team Finland in U18 WJC's.

But if / when Heiskanen joins Finland's team it'll happen after liiga's bronze medal game.

Teräväinen and Ikonen skipped the bronze medal game in 2012. I think Heiskanen will join the team immediately

Didn't someone also skip it last year. Maybe Puljujärvi hmm. I might remember wrong.

So...Heiskanen is in,
Räsänen&Nyman, really good possibility
= 5+2 d men = 7

No room for Vaakanainen&Jokiharju.
Rest of the NA help, not coming.

Something like:

2. Kotkaniemi-Koskenkorva-Ylönen
3. Talvitie-Virtanen-Maansaari
4. Aalto-Kupari-Engberg

1.Heiskanen-Räsänen

Although if they choose 8 d-men,then Vaakanainen
