WC: Team Canada Roster

Dunn had a nice rookie year but he isn't a player that Hockey Canada should pursue given the other young defencemen on the team. Not contacting Huberdeau is also strange.

a very decent rookie year, but I would rate Chabot ahead of him...so 3rd. pair Chabot/Ekblad and 4th. pair Dunn/Pulock. We are in desperate need of a legit 1st. and 2nd pairing. 4 top flight D-men. Things look bleak. Generally, after 3 good years Hockey Canada tends to go in sleep mode with regards to this tournament anyway.

All true but it doesn't appear anyone else will be bringing an all world defense either.

It's the skodas, while I agree having a dynamic group of d-men surely makes you a way better team you don't actually always require this to win.

But yes, so far this is not a very inspiring group.
 
Love those adds from STL, was vouching for Schwartz to come for a while. Solid additions.
 
If Jake Allen is one of those Blues players referred to as 'others', then it will be a decent day.

Parayko and Schwartz are very good editions. Ekblad is pretty much confirmed as even TSN is saying that he is going.
 


I'm all for Ekblad being on the team...but if he's the #1 or 2 d-man (if that's what key role means)...can't say I like our chances if that's the case.

and no spots open for late 1st. rd. additions? don't like that either.

Ekblad took some major steps this year looked alot better just needs to fix his skating a little.
 
I'm still thinking Benn and Seguin are coming so they put Schwartz with Horvat and O'Reilly.

Benn - McDavid - Seguin
Schwartz - Horvat - O'Reilly
Beauvillier - Barzal - Eberle
X - Pageau - X
 
If there are no other big names I would like to see Schwartz get some time with Barzal and presumably Eberle. Good to have some solid all around play with a young centre, and as strong as he is internationally it isn't going to come from Eberle.
