How would this team compare with the other top countries? Canada 1, USA, Russia, Finland and Sweden.

Also would this team be the heavy favourites if they were sent to the current Olympics without NHLers

That team is worse than the USA, Sweden and Russia on paper. Could be better than Finland.

I disagree heavily. Sweden are better than Russia in my eyes. I can try to create a combined team with balanced lines.

I get that Pettersson on the first line could be controversial but I don't let a bad half of a season change my view of an incredibly talented hockey player too much.

I agree with the forwards but not the defense.

Rielly and Letang are both better than Klinberg

not sure about Brodin and Karlsson either.

Also Petterson is overated

The defencemen and goaltenders look about right. I could see the forward group featuring guys like Kadri, Couture, Cirelli, maybe Foligno but not hugely different. I think it's clearly a team below the top contenders, but probably more threatening than the Czechs and any teams below that level. Usually there are some legitimate stars who get cut but I'm not sure that it would happen at forward this time. A B team would have looked better ten years ago, but worse 20 years ago, and so on as depth rises and falls over time.
