I went with But. I voted for him at 25, though I understand the hesitancy. At 29 and the way the draft has fallen here - if Bonk were on the board he’d be my pick - I’d take the swing with But. Russian factor and all that, but at 29 I think he’s worth the swing. I suspect if his name were Daniel But and he were from Thunder Bay he’d be gone by now. Plus he’s 6’5 200+ lbs for all the size queens on this board.

Heidt is an easy pick for me here.
I still think he's the best pure passer in this years Draft.

I went with Strbak. I’m thinking even if the available D in the front of this draft max out as second pairing D wouldn’t it make sense to take as many as we can?
They’ll be on cheaper ELCs. We can keep Parayko and Faulk and with cap increases we can afford a $8-10ml #1D possibly two.

NOW, to move out the $14ml on the left side. Lol

Lindstein. He is my top ranked remaining player and best LHD in this draft. Considered nadeu and Strbak but trust the list.
Just to clarify cuz I’m too lazy to look it up but do you mean Lindstein is the best LHD in THIS draft or the best REMAINING LHD in this draft?

I have Lindstein ranked highest LHD overall. Simashev is better maybe, but I rank him lower bc of Russia factor.

Hey there, I wanted to say thanks for your informative response about your favorite prospects. TOTALLY forgot to tell you that the other week!

Thanks man, appreciate it.

Our boy Maxim is headed to Michigan State and apparently our old friend Billy Armstrong in Arizona loves him. I'm thinking he goes 38th to Arizona if he isn't already gone by then(hopefully to the Blues).

The But is just so tantalizing…

:sarcasm:

No, But seriously…

The size + skill combo is enticing. Could be a home run pick, willing to take that swing with the third 1st.

You're talking about Daniil But and not Alexis Texas or Rose Monroe right?!? The size + skill combo is throwing me off.....

If I'm STL, I'd probably want at least 1 d-man out of the three 1sts, but I don't like any of the d-men left enough at this point. Heidt I think is 1 of the more underrated players in general. He should arguably go almost 10 spots higher than this.

Just wondering, if the actual first round went exactly like the current mock draft we would end up with Moore, Stenberg and But in the first round. Would we be happy with that or would there be slight dissapointment as there wasn't a 'bigger' name that fell so we could them (ex. Honzek going at 24)?

In the consolidated rankings on EP But is ranked as 26th. If he's picked at 29, that's kinda in the expected range so wouldn't exactly call him someone that 'fell'.

Compared to the consolidated rankings, Honzek, Barlow, Sale and Sandin-Pellikka are the ones that 'fell'.

But is in the top 10 for some scouts - getting him at 29 would be huge. I’d be fine with 3 top 6 players and 2 that could be top line players if they hit in Moore and But.

I would be "okay" with it. Not over the moon, but not upset either. I actually really like Moore, but I agree that there might be better options at 10. Stenberg and But would be satisfactory for me as our later picks.

True... but some others also have him somewhere in the 40's. ;)

Just to make myself clear. I'd be totally fine with But at 25 or 29. I was just wondering what other fans would think if we end up with Moore, Stenberg and But in the actual draft. Not saying this would be a bad draft at all. I'm just curious what people think. :)
