A lot of those players peaks don't actually match up with the decade you have them in, though. Datsyuk, for example, had his best years in 06-09, far better than some of the 00s players listed, yet you have him for the '10s?

Lemieux, Bourque and Hasek have no peer on the later decades. Leetch and Chelios as a 2nd pairing is absurd. Best depth at C, too.

Point taken. Will change

It'll still be team 90s, whatever changes are made. Always fun to make best-of teams, though.

Actually surprised that the gap was this big. It’s even bigger between 1st place 90’s and 2nd place 10’s than between 10’s and 3rd place 00’s. 10’s has better 1st line forwards but the rest are pretty even with 00’s. 90’s are just overwhelming all over the place.

It is hard to imagine Shanahan missing the cut off of the others team.

But they have the advantage of not having a team 80s made just before by the OP, like does Coffey make the teams 80s instead ? the guy was an all-star in 81-82 and got high norris finish pretty much all the 80s season versus a single Top 3 finish in the 90s (the 95 lock out season renaissance win).

Ray Bourque was on the all star teams for every season in the 80s

That juice the 90s I feel we are being a bit more generous, Messier has well could have end up on the 80s teams.

Whynot have team 20s in the poll also? Some of the best talent ever

McDavid
MacKinnon
Draisaitl
Matthews
Makar

Etc etc etc...

A little unfair I thought when they only have 2-3 seasons to choose from but might be an idea

Bourque is weird. Do you consider 89-90 to be the 90s or the 80s? That was his best season. He had more top 3 Norris finishes in the 90s than the 80s. He had more top 3 Norris finishes than any other player in the 90s. And more Norris trophies in the 90s than the 80s if 89-90 is the 90s. And more Norris trophies than any player in the 90s if 89-90 is the 90s.

Same thing for Ovi his peak in the 00s is way better than in the 10s.

Didn't vote as the players aren't slotted very well but as good as the 90s look on paper any of the 3 teams could win if they are built properly.

To me 89-90 is the completion of the 80s decade.

Also using peak play means what exactly?

Roy was more of a 90s goalie. So you would have to pick between Roy vs. Hasek.

Broduer would be the 2000s goalie. 4 Vezinas, 2 cups, Olympic gold and World cup wins... all in the 2000s

Trying to figure out if Bourque belong in team 80s or 90s since he played in all the years in question..I would think you would want to just choose which decade was better.

Weird teams

Why is Roy in the 00s?
Why is Crosby in 10s?
Why is Datsyuk in 10s?
Wheres Mcdavid?
Why isnt Bourque in the 90s if Chelios is there? They are 2 years apart.

I like that Price is the goaltender for 10s though, none of that Henrik crap.

the 90s team would dominate. And then you add Hasek, they'd never lose to the others.

I do like the defense in group 2 best though.
