Just needed to say that I have been VERY impressed with his play thus far this season. Obviously not a flashy player but he really does all the little things along with putting up some points. Great off season acquisition by Sather.

When the Isles drafted him in the top-10, Milbury came out and announced, "The Islanders are proud to select Nelson Pyatt," who is Taylor's father. He's a good player. He won't keep up the .5 ppg pace, but there's no reason he can't score 30 points as a quality two-way third liner.
A big bodied heady player who both can be productive and, more importantly, just "get's it."
He is willing and able to do all the things necessary that many of our players either aren't equipped to or don't want to do(no matter what line he plays on)
Definitely a very good signing and I give credit where credit is due but we really need more guys like Pyatt on the team!

Have been pleasantly surprised with him. He's not quite as good as Dubinsky, but he plays a similar role like him.
He has been OK. he gets way too much PP time for my liking. He doesnt hit much but is a big body, He's been serviceable but he hasnt been disappointing or outstanding. So I guess in that regard so far, I guess he's been good.
Pyatt and Callahan are players who are very important for the top lines. Like I said in the GDT last night, having 3 elite forwards together on our top line doesn't work. You need 1 player who brings some physical strength and fights for the puck while the other two make the most of the possession. Pyatt has shown he makes Nash and Richards better when he plays with the two. Cally does exactly the same.
However, Pyatt has a bit more talent as a skater compared to Callahan. Not saying Pyatt is better than Callahan, but having them as our top2 RW's, is a good way to go.

Pyatt: 3g-2a-5p in 10gp
Dubinsky: 0g-4a-4p in 11gp
Great addition by Slats, he's outproducing Dubinsky for less than half the price, and he actually utilizes his skillset correctly.
Always seems to be on or around the puck. I've been pleasantly surprised with his play. He's been reliable and consistent. No complaints about his effort level either. Hope he keeps it up.
HE IS HORRIBLE !!! ONCE THE SHINE WEARS OFF YOU WILL SEE IT. tHE goal the islanders scored he was knocked over fell down and turned over the puck for the break out. He is the soft like one else his size in the league. He also has the worst release of a shot i have ever seen in the game thurs he was in the slot 2 times wide open and looked like a over 40 learn to play hockey guy with his release. he will be the whipping boy by March
Says the guy that worships every useless goon we have. You're alone on this.
