Just sign some PTO/league min contracts to fill our roster out if we can't get any good college players and use the Muzzin LTIR to call up some goons and rest the main guys for a game.

Let Simmonds, Clifford, Clune, Douglas, and Rubins all play and just tell them this isn't an audition and take some runs.

Go after their top players.

Bergeron is one concussion away from retirement. Finish the job for $5k. Pasternak needs one too.

Marchand needs a special one. McAvoy too.

All for a tidy sum of $20k.
Officiating is not good throughout the league. Non calls reward inferior play. Kerfoot scores a nice goal, on way to celebrate gets knocked down by mad bruin defenseman. Obvious non call. Marchand cross checking Tavaras at end of second period, obvious non call. He got misconduct for mouthing at ref tho. The sucker punch, knocking Bush out of game minor penalty was home town scared reffing. Lack of suspension by the league is incompetence. Someone's going to get seriously hurt from a dirty play eventually and the league is going to get they're ass sued off for not showing due diligence in enforcement of rules. Just a matter of time.

Except for when Toronto "Goons it up" and does this, then you'll have DoPS tweeting about it within seconds and suspended immediately. It's pathetic. There was so much talk about Matthews cross-check, yet a couple games later when Byron cross-checked Bunting in the head, then tripped Matthews 10 seconds later to score the gwg no one said shit. f*** off NHL.

As they should.
Don't advocate for players being injured.
It doesn't matter how unjust the NHL has been recently towards Toronto, hoping for players to get hurt is stupid and should always be shunned.

 Expecting the Leafs to goon it up next time they meet.

You must have missed all that sarcasm...no way Leafs would escape with a total $20K fine for all that, maybe a total 20 game suspension minimum to all Leaf players involved.
I saw the sarcasm on money just thought we shouldn’t be like them and wish to hurt them.

Fun exercise, but can it be done and still be cap compliant and have enough contract spots for this (and not losing anyone to waivers)? Would be fun to dress some goons for some games and just tell them to go have fun.

Crazy we still have better forwards than Boston with this lineup.

Douglas - Matthews - Marner
Bunting - Tavares - Simmonds
Clifford - Kampf - Mikeheyev
Clune - Spezza - Blackwell
Nylander, Kerfoot, Engvall

Rielly - Lub
Gio - Brodie
Rubins - Holl

It was pure sarcasm on my part. We know what happens with refs and DoPS when the Leafs do anything but take the abuse. lol

Taylor Hall, I remember when tried to be a hockey player, now he us z punk that nobody really wants long term, or needs

Total shocker. Even less of a shocker, Leafs haters saying it should've been Lybushkin that should've been suspended and that he was faking his injury.

I can only deal with so much stupidity at a time, but holy shit, there's lots of it emanating today.

Should have been an automatic game.
Didn't look like a terrible/super hard punch; but it was
- blindside (opponent didn't see it coming)
- retaliatory
- resulted in serious injury (missed rest of the game)

That clearly clearly CLEARLY deserves a game. For any other team, that's a guaranteed suspension.

Ever since Colon Campbell was in charge of supposed player safety, it has always been a ridiculously biased approach for the benefit of Boston Bruins in particular, and Toronto always is always treated more severely. Over and over again.

If Lou was still the GM I bet we'd have a 4th liner punch Bergeron in the face next game.

I like a lot of things Dubas has done and just posted about it yesterday, but question whether he has the killer instinct needed to lead the team's direction in the playoffs.

Also intentionally targeting the head :dunno:

So a blind sided haymaker to the side of the head of an unsuspecting player only costs 5 grand? That's a pretty good deal.

Yep the standard is now set, lets send out a knuckle dragger to punch Pasta in the side of the head in our next game. Knock him out for the playoffs. Hall actually caught him in the jaw, Hall knew exactly what he was doing.

Revenge is a pretty natural feeling, don't fault people for it. If we're already blind, why should the Bruins see?

Bergeron, not Pasta. Better chance of it lasting the playoffs

Yeah - I mean, there's no suspension for face washes and that targets the head, but this is more than a face wash, more than a "push" to the face - it's a clear punch.

How the dept of player unsafety can see it otherwise would beggar belief.

If a few players all report food poisoning/stomach flu, I wonder how many emergency callups can we get? Would be a shame if Nylander, Matthews, Marner, Tavares, Bunting, Reilly, Brodie, etc all went out for Sushi or something the night before.

Also, even if we only had 9 forwards they wouldn't be too tired when we're only icing 3 skaters for most of the game.
