Really great for a guy that's been a great fit for the team and can move around the lineup a bit. I think he still has some stretches of high end offensive play in him even if it's not going to be totally consistent.

And I know some were down on him at times this series, but he contributed to a couple of wins, and that's about what you need from middle six types.

I wonder if there's an aspect in play, either within the NHL unwritten rules or maybe a psychological aspect, that makes it so the signings are announced after Round 1. Reminder that we also announced the RBA extension after the first round last year.

The second they traded for Jankowski with another yr on his deal at $800K, Robinson was pretty much done in CAR. Unless he wants to take a pay cut, which he’d be crazy to do, I just don’t see him back. I do hope they end up keeping Jost a league min, he’s been quite useful depth.

That's a great contract and a perfect bridge to Artamonov (who is likely 2-3 years away from being ready to contribute on a true contender). I predicted a 3x4, so the cap hit is a tad under my expectations.

Jankowski has also been an excellent fit. His bigger frame made a difference as that NJ series progressed, they couldn't just body that line to submission

Yeah I can’t really be mad at that. He’s shown he has enough in the tank. Still a rather quick skater and if he’s going to be engaged on both ends of the ice like he has been at times then he’ll remain a fine fit for Rod.

Very reasonable deal, was worried we might be getting up over the $4m range but that's 3rd line money for someone you can still slot higher-up in the lineup. Would imagine he gave up AAV for some no-trade protection.

Very happy with this deal. Hard to complain about that AAV and term. Slight downgrade on Turbo but for over $2m less per year. He's shown flashes of still being a legit top 6 winger too, speed is still there. Consistency has always been an issue but I think he'll get better here as he gets more comfortable with his linemates and the system.
