Could use a bonafide number 2 defenseman.. number 1 probably out of the question.. Im assuming we will not be able to re-up Leddy.

Depending on what Phili is going to do, retool or rebuild. If it is a retool, maybe one of their UFA to be defensemen may make sense.

if they are rebuilding, than that doesn’t make sense for them. Maybe a move for him for futures which we then flip to Phili for one of their UFA to be dmen.

He is a UfFA which means likely a 1st and a decent prospect. Outside of Phili, I don’t see any teams that are looking to move a #3 dman. And no one with term. He is a UFA next year, so I don’t see him have that kind of value, especially due to his UFA status.

A team that can fit 7.5m under their cap and believes that a 35+ goal, 35+ assist elite sniper who has been there done that himself in the playoffs is the missing piece for their own Stanley Cup aspirations should give a pair of allegedly late top 10 or even 15? protected 1st rounders me thinks.

a team that can take on a $7.5M cap hit isn’t giving up an actual asset like a top 20 1st round pick/ top prospect.

im sure there are teams who has a $5 M+ top4 D with 1-2 yrs left might work around a deal
