They're definitely not calling him up to be a healthy scratch, so either one of Frattin or Clifford will be sitting while Pearson takes up one of their LW spots.

My guess is that they may be looking to see if Pearson can stick on the roster while playing a limited role, and if he can do so, then it'll give Lombardi the greenlight to move one of Clifford or Frattin (or whoever else) in order to clear up roster space on the bottom six and possibly to look to upgrade up front by adding another top six LW.

At he very least a lot of those initial jitters could be gone.
 
Frattin has looked better than Clifford, I think I'd keep him and sit Cliffy.
 
We've already tried that flavor once before so a shot of something new like Nicolas Deslauriers might've been more interesting.
 
Not freaking out yet... That will come when Lewis is playing LW and Pearson is in the press box.

Yeah, I really don't see him stepping in on say Richards' LW and setting the world on fire. A line of Toffoli-Richards-Pearson doesn't look physical enough to me.

I would have liked to see Deslauriers get a cup of coffee maybe instead.
 
Can't see Pearson being showcased.

Even if he did play well, I can't see any teams forking over a 1st.

And I can't see DL trading him for anything less.

But hey, who knows.

Pearson and things for a LW upgrade makes way more sense.

No, I don't really think so.


If he were I would imagine it would be as part of a package for a legitimate upgrade but that would only be if he were.
