I gotta jump off the tank train. While I know increasing lottery odds is of value, rooting for team to lose every game isnt working for me. I need to root for buchy to work at center. For vrana to find his game. For Tucker to develop. For Kyrou to improve.

putting all my hockey hopes into magic beans runs counter to the whole point of fandom. It’s about growing a team, watching players improve, and a collective joy we experience from great efforts, win or lose. So I’m going back to rooting FOR us. I choose to look for joy in our games. We ain’t gonna make the playoffs and I don’t really care if we win games this year. But I can’t keep rooting for us to lose. Thats not what sports are about. i need to savor the journey, not just focus on the destination.

I’m in the same boat. I find it just as easy to hope that whoever the Blues draft ends up developing into a great player, even defying pre draft projections. But it’s hard to root for losses, and the impact on rebuilding a mentally resilient culture is not trivial.

I can't imagine a better scenario as a Blues fan than winning a Stanley Cup, stealing a generational talent away from them as they look toward another 5 years of rebuilding, then winning another Cup before they make the playoffs again.
