It starts with letting the players interfere and pick each other constantly. Guys get tired of the cheap interference and it turns into little chops and shoves. Still no calls, so it turns into runs and retaliation and now you’ve got a scrum going. Still no calls and guys just start grabbing each other and swinging. Ends up with a leaping hit after the period ends.

It’s been a long time since a ref got booed as bad as the one who announced those last penalties. Couldn’t even hear him talking. That’s where “let the players settle it” got him.
