No theatrics. I don’t put any care giver, service person (btw all the Marines I served with all deployed many many times overseas/off base per 4 years) nor PD/FD down. They keep our society safe.

Btw: my uncle spent 30 years in the FD. He had plenty of “off” days and nights but when his unit was called on they performed.

Not trying to put them down. But I’m also not uniformly treating the guys who are literal government garbage-men the same as the ones who did 3 tours of combat. And also not pretending they’ve somehow protected my life when that most definitely has not been the case within our lifetimes.

Who does the most to protect Americans from actual threats? Cops, TSA agents, flight attendants, security guards, random citizens who followed their gut. Who does they most to protect our liberty? Teachers, poll workers, politicians with a conscience, parents who take their job seriously.

Military’s role in either of those activities inside of our lifetime has been extremely dubious. More economic in nature than anything.
