Willy is so hard to figure out .. but when he decides to be da beast there are very very few guys in league who can stop him .. he is too damn fast, too damned skilled and when his determination meter goes off he owns da puck too .. for me da wiser move is to move Mitch to create a stronger team overall with a top end tender and fix up da defense with rest of AAV .. tenders/defense wins Cups .. if this team gets Matty and Willy going beast in same game with our defense I don't think any other team in league can stop those 2 .. you can stop Mitch and league knows how to do it already most hockey people know da exact way to do it like Habs, Bruins and CLB did same thing will happen again this playoffs too BUT Willy and Matty have da complete package of goods and bottom line they really cant be stopped unless they stop themselves

I'm not convinced a core piece isn't moved no matter what and I think Willy is most likely, I don't want to see it because the issue is goaltending which the core has nothing to do with but I wouldn't be shocked if Willy got traded

No Mitch is a better point producer in regular season when games are slower in speed and less intense on da puck with time and space .. but outside of his ice vision/passing he falls short to Willy in almost every hockey skill .. his shot is much much weaker .. his speed is much much slower .. his strength on puck is much much weaker .. so what happens in playoffs is time and space on puck is significantly reduced and guys like Mitch/JT can't move any faster then they do in regular season hockey so they get rendered almost irrelevant in da game .. if you look closely in stride technique you can see where da issues are and of course overall innate strength which can't be corrected .. you either get it from your dad or you don't have it at all

Now lets just enjoy and sit and talk and see WHO gets injured and WHEN is the word sire :) :clap) the time after gladiators and us humans has not chanced at all..... people still injur each others and the crowd loves this dirt. Thats why there's hockey, boxing and the UFC. For example. Us human beings still love to see blood. Now lets see what happens, maybe none of OUR players get hurt (tonight). Interesting. We move and move thangs. The plates move, we go to the store and a flower on a cup might fall over our head from a 4th stoor window sire.

No matter who they get in the 1st round there's a very real possibility they'd have to play TB/FLA/BOS to get to the cup final.

If we lose the team will think "we played our back-up goalie and didn't ice our best player (best goal scorer in the league)" and if the team wins they'll go "imagine what will we do to them in the playoffs with Matthews and Campbell playing"

If the Leafs win the cup, or heck even make it to the conference finals, I don't think a core piece is moved. Why would you? Nylander will still be under contract for 2 years and PPG wingers don't grow on trees. You definitely don't get them at under $7M. ELC'S not withstanding that is some outstanding value being provided.

While Mitch and Auston bring way more to the table than just points (JT also does as well),
on a point per cap hit basis Willy comes out on top.


I agree we are top heavy as hell and one of these guys are going to have to go at some point. I don't know if I want to remove such an outstanding value piece from the team to upgrade goaltending though. If only we could remove a player like JT who is a fine piece to have on the team, just not at 11M. Would be great if we could restructure his contract at 8M and use the extra $$$ to improve goaltending.

our record is quite good without Mathews, but then again it's that small sample size thing again. Much like the playoffs...lol
