but I gave you 9 years and about a dozen examples that prove no lead is save
What does 8-9 years ago have to do with this current version of the Leafs? Morgan Rielly's first season with the Leafs is the 2013-2014 season and he's been here the longest. Doesn't make any damn sense to compare that long of a stretch. Zero.

Even comparing a few seasons ago doesn't really matter, the roster changes quite a bit from one season to the next.

He hasn't really played a lot in the last month or so...

I'm fine with testing Kallgren but Campbell needs to get in a roll.

agreed.

Don't like this at all really - Jack should have started both these florida games and then Kallgren gets 2 of the last 3.

I want an OT win. Give Tampa a point.
I would rather face them in the first round because they are not as dirty as Boston. Boston plays to injure if they are out matched

I'm curious as to why Jack Campbell is already sitting again after only playing two games in a non back to back situation? He's playing some of his best goaltending in 3-4 months, easily. Why take him out when he's on a roll and needs to get his confidence back? It's a divisional game that is a 4 point game battling for home ice advantage, this move makes no sense to me. Why not have Kallgren play against Washington on Sunday instead? This concerns me more than just, "letting Jack rest". How much more rest can he get? He NEEDS these games to prepare mentally, physically, get in a groove and boost his confidence. Stupid move if you ask me.

Kallgren plays like a 3rd or 4th stringer and I'm pretty sure Tampa Bay will make sure we know about that. Why essentially deliver the game on a silver platter to an opponent you're trying to gain ground on for home ice advantage? Absolutely ludicrous.

Matthews out for a third game in a row? If it was so minor, he'd be playing. It's a divisional 4 point game for home ice advantage. People can say it doesn't matter all they want, but it does matter.

My concerns for our goaltending heading the playoffs was already high, this just amplifies it tenfold.

You'd think a game against our likely first round opponents with a chance to clinch home ice would be a pretty big deal.....but because the Leafs clearly arent treating this as a big game and since I have no idea what the lines are going to be I'm going to take the opportunity to map out my preferred combos if we are ever fully healthy up against what looks to be TB's preferred combos now that they have a fully healthy lineup:

I am so glad Dubie didn't sign Jack to some absurd contract in December when he was hot. He is not reliable. Win or lose, Leafs need new goalies next season.
You might very well be correct about that. At the same time, it seems almost impossible for the Leafs to be able to surpass Florida, or to be caught by either of Tampa or Boston. I wonder if the relative lack of importance in these games is playing any part in some of the lineup choices? I'd probably prefer to see how the team fares come playoff time before making any definitive decisions about the goaltending beyond then.

The logic of starting Kallgren falls into the line of thinking of not giving Tampa the first hand pre-scout on Soup. It’s an angle that’s been talked about, take it or leave it. Might be an example of the galaxy brain in action. Personally don’t have preference either way other than we should beat Tampa and send a message.

Maybe the Leafs management has decided they might prefer Tampa over Boston in round #1?

When I have been watching TB lately they seem to be playing at only 80% compete level and coasting down the stretch. They also may or may not want to play the red hot Leafs in round #1.

However remember how Campbell recently got run over by Tom Wilson of Caps, and Leafs are nervous now about exposing JC in the final games in hopes to avoid injury.

Campbell getting injured is limited if he isn't playing. :)

This is an important game.

Most likely the first round opponent. And most likely we won't have Matthews for it. So what you see is what you get. Need to win so the team can be confident that they can defeat Tampa without Matthews.

Of the remaining games (except facing Detroit) I'd be resting up key players and preventing injuries. Teams we might face in the playoffs wouldn't mind if our key players come off the ice limping. Not worth the risk. There are rats out there. Also dress both Simmonds and Clifford for remaining regular season games.

Definitely, can't win the Hart with such a whimpering finish to his season. Oh well get surgery off season and come back next year
Okay this is getting annoying that you are assuming the worst. Keefe literally said today he's really close. Why do you want to rush him?

Whoa, talk about panic mode. Day to day is now missing the playoffs and having off-season surgery? It's ok to step back from the ledge

The panic getting a bit wild in here. Hart was never our goal for the season.
