9 years ago Nylander, Matthews, and Marner were all in high school and Tavares was still on his ELC with his old team.

No one can seriously talk about blown leads 9 years ago and pin it on this team lol.

Could be a playoff preview here. I don't know if TB has just playing possum lately, and know that they are still the class of the NHL. But either way, this team still has Stanley Cup pedigree and we need to feel confident going into a series against them. If we win tonight that puts us at 3-1-0 on the year against them I believe. Hopefully that and home ice advantage will be enough to get us over the hump.

After that Philly stinker where the game had zero pulse, I am looking forward to a game where the dial is turned up a bit

Hopefully Matthews plays and scores, hopefully Jack keeps his momentum rolling. That's really all I care about. It would take a lot to go wrong to lose home ice at this point.

They aren't going to lose home ice from here, it's just finding out who their opponent will be.

Tampa and Boston both have similar schedules so it likely goes down to the very last game of us vs Boston before we figure out if we are playing Boston or Tampa.

At this point, I don't really care who we face. I think the Leafs biggest opponent is themselves.

They are under tremendous pressure to win but they have to forget the past to do well.

Of the remaining games (except facing Detroit) I'd be resting up key players and preventing injuries. Teams we might face in the playoffs wouldn't mind if our key players come off the ice limping. Not worth the risk. There are rats out there. Also dress both Simmonds and Clifford for remaining regular season games.

I'm not pinning on THIS team but it shows no load is safe with the Leafs in general and hasn't been for at least a decade
 
Interesting game for a number of reasons.

Beating the lightning twice in a short span would do wonders for us going into the postseason against them (if so).

Playing a injury free game is just as important (for both teams) obviously.

I envision a tight checking game...Tampa is likely to have a little more bite (and want to work on potential strategies to nullify us - expecting Cooper to try things) - due to their recent struggles against PO teams, boston inching closer and wanting to prove they still have it - I think we'll need to weather an early push.

In reality it's another day in Florida for Keefe, get players ready for what is likely consecutive series against this state.

It is impossible to play injury free games in these sire. Never. These teams know they face off face to face in the playoffs, so therefore they check and dirt on a sucka hard from the get go. There are even some players who wil try to hurt on a sucka during exactly these type of games and get an edge for the future. I always, always expect a sucka put his stick on or trying to knee on a mutha during these. See it tonight and get my proof. Some of their players will try to take out some of our key fools. Cause they name joe cause they so cool.

I agree but would think the teams that we might face would do the same. You want Hubs/Brakov taking a shot from Clifford?
The only team i could see doing it is Boston
 
Yeah it sucks that we want to clinch home ice tonight but im of the mind that we shouldn’t show our full hand to them incase we get them first round. Same goes for Boston
