Political leaders, especially divisive ones should know better and stay away at times like this, and certainly not push himself forward with any show-stealing youthful high five nonsense. They should all have taken a page from Salmela playbook and hug him instead. That'll teach him. (I love the Putin appearances in the Russian ones though, and Obama inviting the Cup-winning Blackhawks to the White House, so there's obviously considerations in the rule)
It should be the players' celebration, and of them, and in their terms to an extent. I still think maybe the best part in our 2011 one was that someone in organization was planning on bringing Paradise Oscar to perform his Eurovision song and the team was like "how 'bout no" and then got Vesa-Matti Loiri instead.
